The top one is a Travel Air because the struts are too thin to be and SE5, more like a Fokkers, which was why they converted some travel airs to play the German machines in background shots I think and the cowling looks right to be a Travel Air. The prop also looks similar to the ones in pictures of the type used in the film.

As far as my brief research and limited German goes, there was no gas used by the axis in the First World War with the wording ‘Talc’, or even abbreviated to ‘Talc’
Interestingly talc can apply to mixtures of talc and chlorite
    without quartz or asbestos.

I wonder, is it the CAA wielding the butchers knife with their charges that has sacrificed this much loved show?

What can we do about this crook? This ongoing fraud won’t be stopped until it’s appreciated by eBay and the uk authorities that these are demonstrably lies, through the testimony of folks like the last poster.

Anyone tried contacting the seller and questioning them?

It seems they are taking a stance based on ‘if we charge higher prices for shows, they will be stopped which is the only way we can make airshows safe…by getting them cancelled, eliminating the dangers’

Here are some of my shots from my A-level photo shoot I did at the collection on January 10th.

Am I missing something, or has the programme shown the recovery of any aircraft yet?
I have to say, the whole excavation of that dead German in Episode 2 made me cringe. It just didn’t sit right with me, filming a dead soldier being pulled out of the ground just to get viewers for a TV show. It is admirable that they had the body buried properly in a registered war cemetery but even so…

I found the frivolous manner in which they conducted much of the ‘dig’ most distasteful.
Yes they did the honourable thing in donating the finds to the museum but the way they wen about finding them was such that ‘bull in a china shop’ came to mind.
However one must bear in mind this is Channel Five, the channel which brings you the likes of Big Brother and, like some TV institutions (some more than others) is more interested in raking in viewers rather than honouring those killed whether Axis or Allied.

I am not arguing with Bruce we are having a debate.

It sounded to be bordering on an argument, but let’s call it a debate then

Gentleman, Bruce is talking sense, there is no need to argue, it really solves nothing, Copping and his plane have been the subject of much, in my opinion injustice, and there is no need to argue on top of that, as long as the plane is preserved to his memory and his remains are either found or left in peace, there is no point arguing!

Let’s not go back to the whole Burma saga, nothing else has happened, it’s pretty old news and until a few Spits suddenly appear out of the hallowed Burmese soil I think it’s not much good going over it again.
