Was PZ468 built before D-Day?
Storch
Brian
Where pray is the rest of this Storch or ‘criquet’
I think that’s not quite on a par with the Battle of Britain Film’s, Spitfire/Hurricane/Buchon/Hurricane again…or something of that sequence anyway xD
There is something absolutely beautiful about the Supermarine Spitfire, especially in my opinion the MkI, and your photo just enhances that beauty to the optimum.
An excellent account of the comings and goings of Duxford, an excellent diary I must say.
Ok…that couldn’t have flown by now xD
Are there really no drawings of those aircraft at all?
That could’ve flown by now…
What happened to that Focke Wulf 189 that was being restored, wasn’t that supposed to fly in the end? or am I imagining it ?
Brits had inveted a rocket engine ( interceptor ) that was safe, but F-104 got their german deal.

He-162 was more unsafe.
My avatar is a rocket-jet hybrid ship.
We could try the SR powerplant?
Hmm, I can just see the CAA granting permission to build a rocket interceptor with highly volatile fuel xD
Probably a Russian dropped it whilst testing our radar etc!

How about getting some B17’s back across the pond and getting “pink Lady” flying again, to join “Sally-B”
A flight of B17’s would stir the blood – It needs to be done in the next few years whilst we still have US veterans who would bring authenticity to it all.
If we could get the B17s over and a couple of 109s with the 2 buchons and even a 262, we could do a whole American bomber raid scenario!
How about a great tour of the ‘Anti Russian snooper’ Display team.
Mock interceptions of Tupolev bear bombers by Typhoons at display venues across the country, and other places beside, especially for coastal displays xD
Wasn’t it because it was decided it had sufficient low speed handling, so they just weren’t needed, strapped back and omitted on production aircraft?
To be honest I think all this talk is of no consequence, the most likely result is she’ll just decompose into the earth which bore the metal which built her!
With ‘you know who’s’ record I doubt it’ll be dug out any time soon, especially seeing as no one else seems to be taking up the task either, mostly for economic reasons.
Sad but true I fear.
