My tribute to the victims of the tragedy

My tribute to those lost in the tragic airshow accident at Shoreham.
My condolences once again to the families of all those killed, may they be strong at this time of great sorrow in the hope that their loved ones are at peace
There we go, at least that’s something
As much as it could mean something like this doesn’t happen again, I personally do not feel that holding airshows solely over the sea is the answer.
As many keep repeating, it has been decades since lives were claimed in an airshow accident in the UK, So the BADA and CAA regulations must do something right!
If Airshows were held solely over the sea, what would happen to the Likes of Duxford or Little Gransden, or any other airshow over land, it would be ludicrous.
Also, airshows over the sea may have benefits of not being near homes and businesses nor busy roads either, but there are still boats, and seafronts that could potentially in danger, as potentially in danger as places near land based shows.
As I said before, this is a tragic event, and my condolences go to the families of all those killed, whether there be more to be found, I sincerely hope not.
With regards to historic aircraft, jets in those ‘early days’ were temperamental at the best of times when they were new, and with age that is unlikely to improve, anything could go wrong, that is no speculation.
With the debate over where airshows should be, whether over only sea, or land and sea, I feel it is not a question of where a plane is displayed, an airshow over land can be performed 100% safely (as I have seen every airshow I’ve been to in person), I suggest it is how the plane whatever type, is displayed that is the key factor (no offence to the poor pilot who appeared to be merely doing what guidelines allowed) the guidelines are what must be altered somewhat!
‘Finishing The Prey’

featuring a Hurricane MkI of 87 squadron and a Heinkel 111 P2 of a fictitious Luftwaffe unit, starboard engine ablaze.
That poor pilot, he’s probably got enough on his plate, just staying alive and recovering for a start! without people being condescending and such
My utmost condolences to those bereaved in this tragedy. I hope that the cause will be swiftly found so steps can be taken to make historic flying in some way safer.
It is a pure miracle the pilot still clings to life!
Planes TV Just cut the live feed.
That is terrible, I can’t believe it!
Glad I didn’t go to Shoreham today, but God, how terrible
That’s a point, wouldn’t want to cause a nuisance to the car-borne hoardes.
Still it’s a pity, some lines of mock bullet hits at least wouldn’t cause too much of a bother, surely?
As before, apologies for this revival, but is the aircraft still awaiting its engine? How long would it likely take to arrive?
It seems a shame that it might miss out on flying to commemorate the Battle of Britain 75th, seeing as it is an original ‘Emil’
Well, they’re off, and looking pretty amazing and sounding brilliant too, even on live feed.
Is there any chance one of the flights will go over the St Albans area? my geography is pretty poor to say the least
Oh of course, that explains why it seems so quiet.
I wish I was able to go myself but alas I cannot for a couple of reasons.
Anybody able to help?
The BBMF’s Hurricane Mk IIs LF363 and PZ865, and Spitfire II P7350 spotted passing North Weald Station on the ‘Epping and Ongar Railway’ at 13:44pm
Is there anyone on the forum who might know the plans for the Duxford example?
I wonder who the ‘buyer’ was?
