According to his ex-wife, who presumably knew him quite well, he is heartless , arrogant and rude and capable of awful cruelty, who claimed to do a great deal for charity but infact never put himself out at all.

Yup, sounds like a typical right winger.

    Blah,blah, blah,

Typical brexshyter arrogance combined with rose tinted spectacles. I very much doubt we’ll be buying eu food cheaper, the latest forecasts are for it to be at least 20% more expensive. Beating path to our door? Why?

Yes, Mercedes and BMW will still sell us their wares, but again will have to charge more. Get it?

And what makes you think I don’t agree with the concept of being succssful or making profit? I do own a small business after all.

And finally, you seem to have your logic in a twist, as #2555 contradicts #2562 regarding immigration and the effect on wages

Whilst from a much more reliable source, retail sales down, pound down, inflation up, gap between wages and inflation widening etc. etc.
As far as the jobs are concerned, how many are full-time jobs with a living wage. I know from my own experience that many who are ‘encouraged’ to become self employed actually don’t earn enough to support themselves without additional help. Don’t forget the vast majority of those in this country who are eligible for benefits are also in work

like my family believed in liberty at any price and paid that price – for you

And my family fought and died and paid that price- for you to be able to spout nonsense on a regular basis

    Don’t you forget it.

And of which socialist principles have you heard me speak? I think BM has a point- you don’t understand the difference between socialist and centrist.

This is not a willy waving contest on who lost the most in various wars, I am just trying to show that we all had those who made many sacrifices but don’t all follow one path as a result.

bM, John seems to be making the mistake (again) of assuming all those who fought (and died) for King/queen and country would all be of a like mind and agree with him. I lost great uncles in the first and second world wars, my grandfather fought in the first world war and was wounded and became a passionate advocate of what John would regard as left wing ideals in particular the enhancement of workers rights. Other relations, including my father, were war veterans and they were to a man positive about the basic concept of the European union, my father voted remain last year. Another uncle by marriage was a member of the Society of Friends and was a conscientious objector, but he was part of the Friends Ambulance Unit instrumental in working with the Army Blood Supply Depot and served alongside the 8th army throughout the Western Desert and into Italy. If you have ever had a blood transfusion with blood provided by the NHS blood service, they still rely on many of the systems that his service pioneered in WW2
So don’t play the jingoistic card so readily John, you are not speaking for my family.

Now the OECD suggests that a ‘No Deal’ would be a bad option. Doesn’t make happy reading for the rabid brexshyters

As is so often the case regarding Brexit, Bradburger and John have got it quite wrong. He is simply the most vsisble member of the cabinet with a modicum of reality regarding the current situation.

No, they are just both being realistic. The rabid element of the pro brexit morons are just so enthusiastic about the so called sovereignty position they are wiling to force a disastrous “no deal” at the expense of the rest of the country.

It hasn’t lessened her credibility, she campaigned for staying after all. Why should she have changed her mind? What has happened in the intervening time that would persuade anyone in their right mind that it was a good idea to leave?
David Davis is completely out of his depth,

She doesn’t have to believe in it to pursue it, she is a politician after all.
and last time I looked she wasn’t leading the negotiations personally.

time to untwist your knickers John

Having fun with a machine gun….. Hmmm. Perhaps it might compensate for inadequacies in other areas of ones life… Or anatomy.
    Nope, still don’t get it.

What I find difficult to understand, and it is probably because I have no personal interest whatsoever in owning or using firearms, is why any private individual would want to own a machine gun. The fact that it is legal to do so in the US if you are wealthy enough is not something to be proud of.

I don’t often agree with Piers Morgan, but he has shown up the pro-gun lobby in the US to the ridiculousness of their position with one very simple example.

    Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs.

The complete silence from the NRA also exhibits their cynical approach…. Wait till it all dies down then express platitudes all the while spending millions of dollars behind the scenes trying to supress discussion of the issue in congress and the senate. But hey, thats democracy eh?

No John, I don’t lay all of the UK’s ills on that woman, but credit must go where it is due and the commodity thing was exactly what she was intending to promote, with an eye out for the supposed idea that anyone who owned their own house was bound to vote tory.

Save your fulminations for unrestricted immigration which is solely responsible for the present state of affairs.

Soley responsible? I think not, The thatcher years were when social housing was old off cheap and the councils were ideologically prevented from replacing their housing stock. That is one of the main root causes of the current housing crisis.

She also started the “me, me” culture that has led to the lack of personal responsibilty you decry.
