For France, this is an overdue political step in the ‘right’ direction. The hard Left have had their boot on the neck of a France beset by the sclerotic and archaic working practices of a system of Govt. dominated by statist control.

To re-enforce Trek’s earlier point the outcry against Trump has been from a small unrepresentative minority.

Marine Le Pen, together with her niece, represents a very large minority of the French and a larger minority than the other parties. She talks a lot of sense about a number of subjects the French care about. The FN should not be underestimated.

It would appear The FN should not be overestimated either, although as one critic said it was not a ‘victory’ as they have done so well in the first round and have tripled the number of councillors.

Well done to the French Voters who it seems have stepped back from allowing the FN to run regional governments, for now at least

On the contrary, I would suggest that the majority of the UK population was disgusted by his repugnant comments. At the last count I believe there were 490,000 who have supported the petition and 25,000 who have supported a contrary one. On that simple sample,18: 1 against

There may have been a majority of Daily Mail readers who agreed with him, oh and a majority of UKIP voters of course (source: yougov)
But Mail readers and UKIP supporters are not a majority of the UK population ( thank whatever God you believe in)

You are much, much more likely to be killed in either the US or the UK by a white ‘christian’ than a muslim or a hindu or a buddhist if for no other reason than they form such a small percentage of the population of either country

You need to seperate the UK government and elements of UK population.

The Government have not said he can’t visit, Call Me Dave has said he disagrees with the comments as he has expresed disagreement with leaders from the regimes you have suggested in the past, such as Russia, China, Zimbabwe etc. although not as vocally as other regimes with worse records such as Saudi Arabia unfortunately

Many of the citizens of the UK have for years decried the Governments stance on such regimes for so called ‘diplomatic gain’ and thus the petition is just a continuation of such expressions.

Trump is certainly is no worse than Sarah Palin, or Marine Le Pen to name but two in my estimation
