I met Peter after the press had finished interviewing him and spoke with him briefly about TA805 The Kent Spitfire, he reckons he may have flown TA805 and was going to check one of his SIX log books!

It was quite a week for me having met Hans Bob on monday and then Peter Ayerst on Thursday all at Biggin Hill.

Saw the Spitfire on the back of a lorry at the end of the A21 near the M25 junction at about 2 pm this afternoon.

Do not know where it is off too.

Yes saw the crane lifting them from the south side of the airfield.

They are both being replaced with Mk 1 replicas i believe? The spitfire is going in 92sqn markings the Hurricane i do not know, i’m sure somebody here will tell us more. (32 sqn maybe?)

Looks very strange with out them outside the Chapel.

And what a beautiful flypast at Manston it was! Brightened up a long hard day to see it screaming in and a beautiful victory roll over the old tower!

A practice flight, or some other reason?

Flypast for some veteran’s i believe.

P51 Mustang over Witham 10.35am, heard it but not quick enough to see it! Picked him up on airband – heading towards Maldon.

Spitfire went over few mins later – managed to see that one. D-day stripes, heading southwest.

Spitfire was TA805, G-PMNF, Duxford to Biggin Hill via flypast at Manston.

TA 805 over flew my house heading into Biggin Hill at exactly 11 AM this morning. The weather wasnt great but glad it flew, such a fitting sight and sound for remembrance day.

Yes TA805 flew down runway 21 to mark the end of the two min silence along with the bagpipes playing and all live on ITV News.

Yup, beautiful tight display by Dan Griffiths for the remembrance service at St, Georges Chapel, against a very low cloudbase. Contrails off the wingtips and all. Fantastic!
