    Mi-28A exhaust.

Is this the angle or actuallly the exhausts are bended downwards as opposed to what I have studied that heli exhausts are turned upwards to reduce heat signature as seen from the ground…usually by IR homing SAM threats

Terminal dash can be achieved by varying grain configuration in solid propulsion

There are three types of burns that can be achieved with different grains.

    Progressive Burn
Usually a grain with multiple perforations or a star cut in the center providing a lot of surface area.
    Digressive Burn
Usually a solid grain in the shape of a cylinder or sphere.
    Neutral Burn
Usually a single perforation; as outside surface decreases the inside surface increases at the same rate.

MiG Failed But Not Forgotten: MMRCA Defeat…

Full story: DefenceDog: MiG Failed But Not Forgotten: MMRCA Defeat…

    Abstracts:

    • But the Americans relentlessly exposed the yard. And not just naked politics brazenly interfered in the matter. Washington is very sparingly and reluctantly goes to the transfer of technologies, preferring, where possible, to trade “finished textiles”. From Pentagon officials it is literally necessary to draw out permissions to the transfer of technological documentation. Although US aircraft manufacturing giants, are not averse to share technology with third countries – that’s triple profit: for the current supply, for consulting and engineering for future sales, whose logic is due to the choice of know-how. U.S. willing to sell finished products, with detailed instructions for use (however contrary to this contract – a fancy system of restrictions on the use of weapons and launched).
    • In addition, there is considerable suspicion that if Republicans win the presidential election in 2012 and withdrawal of Obama from the White House; warm US-Indian friendship may cool down in favor of more “traditional” allies of Washington, like the same arch rival of Delhi – Islamabad. Because of U.S. policy of isolationists, & provided that US is never shy when it comes to what they consider “national interest”, India has to seriously consider the likelihood of a negative scenario, in which she risks a virtual standstill with the United States in the middle of the implementation of offset programs.
    • Leaking confidential & technical information to Russia about the US planes, being supplied to Indian air force, may inhibit Americans in limiting the transfer of information at an early stage of the tender.
    • One thing that other competitors don’t posses is the ability to mass produce complex equipment like AFAR (in a short notice), that is so easily achieved by Russians & the Americans. It seems that both Paris and London promised something to Delhi; in fact, they (probably) promised a lot, and the promises were convincing. It’s not hard to guess that in order to sell something that doesn’t exist yet, the seller must make extra discounts.
    • Much more likely to clinch Russia is China, who clearly intends to get into this same market of cheap light aviation with its “Fierce dragon” FC-1, also known as the JF-17. But that’s a separate story, the more so in the Celestial Empire, with its relatively low-tech engine (remember that export JF-17 is so far flying on the Russian RD-93).

If you are referring to TR1’s launch images, Leon, the missile isn’t P-20M it is a P-500 variant. The ship is one of the 1164’s. Even if the size and arrangement of the weapon doesn’t give this away the fast check is the number of boosters – P-20M has a single ventral booster.

    You are right:
    Look at this P-500 model

I certainly think he’s an idiot and only in office as a novelty vote. Killing OSB in his house is the first decent thing he’s done. It will help remove his “Muslim-in-Chief” nomenclature.

And the event is not highly unlikely, the Arabs have a problem with Israel and the Jewish faith…full stop. Israel isn’t moving and the Arabs think they are better owners of the land.
It is only a little bit unlikely that US will be dragged in full bore, as Israel rarely asks for help and has a nice tidy stockpile of arms ready for the next fisticuff with the noisy neighbours. Public opinion stopped her last time, preventing a full on destruction of the Hamas or whatever they are called this year.

It has been erstwhile argued that given the size of Israel; its very very probable that even a single nuke hit it Israel will suffer a lot & the will to further attack will be all but crushed.
Given the inferiority of Israel’s enemies in conventional warfare…thy will use (as the last resort) biological/nuclear weapons..things that are harmful for a relatively pea-size country

    @Teer

You spoke well & wisely. Your definition of sore pill for Pakistan is clealry right as far as I see….
One must realise that talks about stealth choppers is all but unproven; given the fact that public ad seen & we had in our custody the wrcekage of fallen chopper…& its Chinook.
Blinding Radar is another issue that I feel is very very far-fetched. Its the money blinding the eyes of man controlling Radars & not the otherwise. Reports has been publicly revealed showing the treaty to intervene to get OBL was signed 5 years back …so this indirectly refers to money-type configuration or a deal; if you can term it that way.

I don’t doubt Israeli military power, however all of this “10:0 to Israel” type attitude worries me.

Personally I believe that, if anything like the Yom Kippur war ever happened again in our lifetimes then Israel would lose. Blasphemy! I hear you all scream. Well my reason for saying this is that if a combination of Arab nations did decide to unite to destroy Israel, it would probably consist of several nations that did not take part in the previous conflicts that are well equipped, Saudi Arabia for example.
Add to this hi-tech enemy the involvement of fanatical groups fighting a guerilla style conflict and Israel may find itself over whelmed.

Yes you are right; the US has for a long time had caste or had been able to cast a type of Iron curtain b/w Sunnis & Shias [remember the 10 year Iran-Iraq war]….the Israel incursion could eventually destroy this disunity & US will face a dire situation.
IMO the US already had made Iran more versatile domestically in the sense that its two major Sunni enemies are already dismantled…Taliban..Iraqis
