Dunkirk used real aircraft and somehow managed to make them look like CGI!

David, can you confirm free entry to Duxforc is included as I can’t find any mention of it on the web site.

The profile of the underside where the damage is used to be a curve – its now flat so the panels have been ground away and much of the supporting structure behind has been damaged as well. I don’t see it flying again any time soon sadly..

There is a Facebook group – they had a work party weekend over the bank holiday to clean them up a bit.

On this forum (and others) there have been repeated mentions of a one off ferry flight. Given that this idea was fairly soundly slapped down the last time it was talked about (and hasn’t been this time) other than money (and getting paperwork in place etc) is there anything that would actually stop it happening?

If anyone would care to work out how much hangar space they need then we’ve recently priced up a build for a guy who wanted to house two Kingairs. It came out at £75 a square foot plus the cost of the land.

“The CH2A and the City of Windsor are very pleased to announce that, in response to a request from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, we will be sending our horizontal stabilizers to RAF Coningsby, UK. They will be re-built to BAe standards and will replace the current stabilizers on Lancaster PA474 as they near the end of their airworthiness sometime in 2018. This exchange will allow the BBMF Lancaster to uphold their flight commitments through the 2018 season without interruption. Once their old stabilizers have been removed, they will be shipped to Windsor to be installed on Lancaster FM212. We are very proud to uphold the spirit of co-operation that has existed between our organizations and our two great countries!”

The aircraft used for degaussing often had the front turret removed.

Would anyone really pay £600 for that Phantom bit? A lot of their other items a priced highly as well (in my opinion of course!!)

Isn’t there also an issue with Martin Baker no longer supporting some of their older seats?

The aircraft is owned by the people who own the airfield so its hardly likely they would serve an eviction notice on themselves!

If a developer sets his sights on the airfield and the local authority won’t back them then they will just go to appeal and most likely win.
