    🙂

The Aeronavale has at least 12 aircraft

The 14th has be delivred directly onto the CdG from Dassault’s factory (which is a premi?re) some days ago…

    The SEM is still present.

And should remain in service at least until 2013…

But where do they put 4x2000L ? Two under each wing ? Crazy !

    They can’t. It’s 2x2000L+2x1250L, for a total of 6500L

Are there any known (official or unofficial) plans about equipping the Rafale with double mounted mica/meteor-pylons?

(take a look at the double meteor pylons on the purposed Gripen-N)

Not to my knowledge, but I would love to see that!

    PS: Nice pic! 😉

I must admit I have wondered exactly the same thing!

Rumors were that the ALAT could go for a 100% HAD fleet, abandonning the HAC. I must say that I’d always been reluctant to the Tiger HAC without the 30mm chin-mounted gun, it’s way too specialized…

About the Trigat:I agree with sealordlawrence, this missile has been plagued with unexpected and undeserved troubles, both technical and political, I’m glad the German kept the program going on and I still hope it will be fitted on the ALAT’s Tigers (maybe the Hellfires are seen as an interim solution… why not ?)…

Mr. Sarkozy strikes for the first time.. We might see many peculiar deals like that in the near future…

No. The purchase of Hellfire missiles fot the ALAT had been announced by Air&Cosmos 2-3 months ago…

That’s not the first comics with the Rafale as the “hero” :diablo:

Right, the first comic book with the rafale as “hero” was the (rather good) FOX ONE, released in 1997…

A side question: in which issue ?

No doubts that for many centuries (and probably for a lot still) Uk and France have each other a sentiment of non-feeling. They don’t like each other… but that’s another story :p

Do you know “European” that that Battle of Trafalgar happened two centuries ago, and that the French-English wars have been over for a long time now ?

About the French and English who “don’t like each other”, I usually see this kind of dislike in the medias (especially the english press, in fact), but I never saw it from any English person I had the the oppotunity to meet. And I met many of hem…

So, pardon me, but the Clich? of the so-called “traditionnal French-English hate” is BS, pure and simple!!!

    End of the rant.

The original Brimstone was designed as an anti-tank weapon, but the seeker can be told to attack other things, e.g. patrol boats. Brimstone 2 has laser guidance & blast+fragmentation warhead. AFAIK, there’s no problem combining the original MMW radar seeker with the Brimstone 2 warhead. IIR is next. Range of up to 25 km, 50kg, 12 kg warhead. Rather more than just an anti-tank missile nowadays.

As a sidenote: I personnaly LOVE the Brimstone, and I really wonder why it doesn’t seem to interest the AdlA; it would perfectly fit on a Mirage 2000’s four fuselage’s hardpoints…

That said, swerve, are you SURE of this 25km range ? It’s waaaay more than the Hellfire’s original range of 6-8km, how is it possible ??

Rafale fuel load chart, pic taken on the Rafale itself:

    http://dada4.free.fr/kero_rafale.jpg

so there is well 4750kg internal fuel
and fuel density is 0.8, so 2000l is 1600kg as stated by OPIT

    star49, you’re dismissed

Extremely interesting picture, torpedo, thanks! 🙂
