You are most likely right! I thought it sounded too much too… I’m not used to typing it in liters (I use kg or gallons) and used a bad google result 😮

OK. That explains. Could you, please, give use the fuel datas in kg or gallons (US gallons, I presume…) ? 🙂

And, to convert galons into litres, try this:

The new internal fuel capacity will be at least 5000 liters (compared to 4365 today)

I beg you pardon, but I remember having read in an old Air Forces monthly issue that the Gripen’s internal fuel capacity was of 3000 litres…

And Note that 5000 litres is close from the Rafale’s 5325 litres of internal capacity which is a twin engines aircraft. Are you sure of thoses numbers ? I’m really and honestly asking, because I fell somewhat confused, here…

Can the BGL 400 be mounted on twin ejector racks so that possibly six can be carried? (two each on the centerline & wing hardpoints)

Nope! only the GBU-12 can. The BGL-400 is to large for this. keep in mind the 2000 has short gears and the place is very limited under the wing/belly. The rafale has less prioblem in this domain…

Note: the Ceterline can carry an AM-39 Exocet, though the FAF doesn’t use it.
Note 2: I think the AASM won’t be integrated onto the 2000D, for reasons I still ignore…

More fuel ? How much more ?
How heavy will the plane be, then ?
    Any new engine, too ?

BGL 400 laser-guided bomb (7) (four fuselage plus centerline & inboard wing)

I doubt this one is right. The fuselage points are, as you said, limited to 400 kg, whereas the BGL-400 weights actually 480 kg…

It’s no exactly in topic, since Ju-188 actually flew within the French armed forces, but I think this picture is interesting anyway:

Sorry, but I have nothing done on Your PC !! :diablo:

I just found it without any reference at the “What-if modelers” forum (http://www.whatifmodelers.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=10292)

Did You make this picture  … then I would like to ask for some additions: I would add some canards maybe on lengthened air intake trunks !

    Cheers, Deino 😉

Thanks for the link, I’ll check for that! 🙂

And, no, I haven’t made the picture, I’m utterly incompetent as far as Photoshop’s use is concerned… If I said “picture stolen” it’s only because I copied the pic on my HD… 😮

I don’t know who made it. It does look pretty cool though 🙂

Never mind. I steal the pic anyway… 🙂

The part about UCAVs is interesting. When/if UCAV get operationnal, will they also be designated asz “F-something” or is the “F” kept for manned aircrafts only ?

tbzz, do you have any more pics of the YF-23’s weapon bay? this pic you posted is the first I’ve seen of it open.

If I remember correctly the weapon bay was 2x 2000lb bomb capable, in hindsight the F-23 would probably have been a better choice for the USAF, it would have made a excellent multi-role F-117 replacement.

BTW are the Y/F-23 Bombs bay dimensions available, by now ? I’d be curious to know them…

LOL yeah it’s about as real as this one. Probably wouldn’t be much of a challenge to find the original on the net somewhere. I mean it’s the guy’s FIRST post and he’s wondering if this photoshop job is real? Probably did it himself and wants to see if anybody will bite.
