Thought this was interesting. Least the pilots of the Foxbats were aggresive enough to try and dogfight

Yup! And them seem to have some very well-working flares too…
On subject : cross-qualifications of JDAM and AASM/Hammer is one of the most interesting possibilities.
I would LOVE to see the Brimstone missile qualified on the Rafale and the Mirage 2000D… 😎
The Il-76PS, or PhotoShop 😉
I see… thanks for the clearing, then.
But you’ll admit that the “Il-76PS” looks seriously cool! 😎
Hi all! 🙂
Since there’s a dedicated thread for the IL-76, can someone explain me what is the version of the beast on this picture, please ?

When I look at the ASMP-A, I can’t stop thinking of the great anti-ship missile it could have been, fitted with a conventional warhead 🙁
Yes, that’s my opinion too… And thinking there used to be an “ASMP-C” (“C”= “Conventionnel” or “non nuclear”) project in the mid-nineties that was eventually dropped… If memory serves the missile would have been equipped with the As-30 Laser’s warhead… tell me about a missed opportunity!!! 😡
please send two attractive female field operatives from Israel and France’s intelligence community to help me in my research. 😀
“Make love, then war” ? 😀
Althouh I agree that this this topic is both pointless and touchy, I must said it can raise some interesting questions regarding a French intervention in the Near-East.
Among (probably many) other questions, I wonder if France could be granted the use of Cyprus’airports in order to fight a war in the region (wether be vs. Israel, Syria, Egypt ou Turkey doesnt’ matter).
After all, Cyprus is part of the UE and I really wonder if they wouold accept the risk to be part of a regional conflict they have no real capability to influence, since Cyprus armed forces are quite tiny and limited in fighting capacity…
Is this FM400 version being offered to the MN as a Lafayette replacement? Or is it intended for export?
Export, I suppose, since there are no more funds avalaible for the MN… as usual.
This competition is really exiting…Its more about politics/lobbying than specs to say the least but still its as good as a good moovie ! What a suspens !
Yes! In many episodes!
For now:
Episode1: Rafale: a new Hope.
Episode2: The Swede strike back
What’s next ? “Return of the Rafale” ?
Hello all! 🙂
According to my “Military Balance 2008” (I don’t have any of the more recent editions), there is no independant Air force in Montenegro, most aircrafts being under army’s command and based at Podgorica…
Inventory is:
Airplanes:
15 G-4 Super- galeb (8-9 serviceable)
4 UTVA-75 basic trainers
Helicopters:
15 SA-341/342L Gazelle (half of them being airworthy)
5 Mi-8T (stored awaiting overhaul)
That’s all what’s written… 😎
Another example of why the retirement of the Canberra PR9 without replacement was such a stupid idea.
I diid read in a recent copy of AFM that they did look at transfering the capability to some Bombardier Global express but it came to nothing.
Replace “Canberra PR9” by “Mirage IV” and you got EXACTLY my feeling… 😡
Care to do that with a Hornet ? 😀

Just in case you’d wondering: it’s not a fake, this had been acomplished by French pilot Charles Godefroy in 1919… 😎
Just stupid to have them permanently grounded! Those guys only added some spice to the show!! 😡
An improved Super Frelon, THAT is exactly what France should have made, godamnit!!!! 😡
interesting design.. it looks like something the Russians would make (15 years ago), or even the Chinese would make. Not Eurocopter style.
Really ? It really looks like an Eurocopter’s “Puma” , to me.
