Alot of “might be” there baz. That seems to be the main reason for the 19th century attitude.Honestly,if a Sheila is that frail why even go on public transport?
It’s an excuse & a pretty poor one.
Just because they’re a Sheila doesn’t automatically mean they need a seat. It’s an excuse used by rude & selfish women who don’t actually have a genuine need.

Strangely enough wozza,I also went to hospital for a toe operation! It was a few years ago & I had 2 ingrowing toenails, about an inch into the flesh.Just touching them caused eye-watering pain.
They kept me waiting for hours in a corridor, with no information on how long I had to wait. The thing I remember most was the humid air & the very strong stench.Like rotting flesh. What was strange was the 2 nurses sat at the reception desk, gossiping the whole time. Not even flinching at the stench!

Why? Doesn’t make them more deserving than anyone else.Either women want equality or they don’t.It’s exactly that kind of grossly hypocritical,flip-flopping that makes political correctness so f**king retarded & unbelievably stupid.
If I give up a seat,it’s because someone looks as if they need it.Gender does not & should not come into it.
In situations like that,it’s the new being black.Devious & hypocritical women using their physical traits to take advantage.

Have to agree, viper. It’s not the removal & trial of the Saddam regime that many people oppose. It’s the war itself. While everyone agrees that it’s a good thing Saddam is facing a trial; it’s the cost & the way it has occured that is objectionable.
    Let’s be honest with ourselves.
The trial is only an extra result of the war & occupation. As Bush & Blair made clear,it was never about prosecuting the regime for crimes against different peoples.

At least now something positive has come out of the Iraq disaster & many more are aware of the non-Iraqi victims of Saddam’s regime.

The effects are being hyped, but the issue is not. It’s potentially very serious now that it’s moving across Europe. After foot & mouth & BSE,it can be very damaging to European & British farming. Some people are already not eating Chicken & it hasn’t even reached Britain!

Also,if you can; you could put some info on other embarked units such as Marines. An update for your page on the British HMS Ocean;Permanently embarked on HMS Ocean is a Royal Marines Landing craft unit,9 Assault Squadron Royal Marines. They have a secondary role of ship duties including fire fighting, bridge watchkeeping & security.

Most importantly (dax & curlyboy) or anyone else: is there any way of getting spare parts for old Matchbox model aircraft?
The biggest problem with building my Supermarine Stranraer,is the lost pilot & cockpit parts.
    Any ideas? Maybe some websites?

Nice & informative,Jeff. But there are quite a few spelling mistakes in the articles & the only main fault is the lack of information on embarked aircraft. You have nice photo’s of the ships, but some information on & photo’s of the embarked aircraft, in their different roles would be better.
