I don’t know, jj. You would have to look at the HM Coastguard website.
About 6 years ago, I saw the RAF’s Red Arrows flying low over north London. They returned in the opposite direction after about an hour. About the same month, also saw a Lancaster flying low & a Eurofighter.
All in the same part of north London.

I see ghosts, no wait sorry wrong forum.Seriously though i see Lynx’s alot, about 1 a day if thats alot lol, Seakings but mainly the red and white boring sea rescue ones, Merlins very occasionally like once every month maybe. Apache seen about twice, oh Chinnoks about once a month often two at once. Saw a Hawkeye about 2 years or maybe year and a half ago. Red arrows used to see quite often during summer months years ago but not so often these days it seems. Never ever seen a RAF puma which is odd lol. Had a jaguar go over about 3 years ago and that was the last fast mover i saw i think. Concorde was cool cos it used to shake all the windows in the house when it used to fly over to America and i guess where i lived we were still in the ‘shock area’ if you get me cos the pressures would rumble and rattle the whole house – was very cool and used to be almost every night at about 9ish from memory when i was younger. Oh that plane that drops the red devil parachuters every year for a fete but they always always land about 3 miles off rather worryingly lol. Some of you lot are so lucky to see all the stuff you do. Worst thing is being in a factory at work and hearing a fast jet but not being able to see it – had that quite a few times and you ask people what it was and they say things like ‘it was very loud’ or ‘it went real fast’ – even had a guy last year say ‘oh thats a Vulcan Bomber you can tell by its engines without doubt its a vulcan’ oh how we laughed at that one!

Red & white Sea King is not a military one. They are on contract to the coastguard for sea rescue.

Here in north London it’s almost entirely helicopters, going around RAF northolt. Usually we see RAF CH-47D Chinooks (very common) and Griffin & Squirrel (RAF & Army) training helicopters.
Sometimes we see RAF Pumas & Merlins; & from the navy, Merlins, Commando Sea Kings, & from the Army Lynx AH 9, Lynx AH 7 and Gazelles.

On rare occasions we see RAF Rescue Sea Kings & VIP Twin Squirrels, navy Rescue Sea Kings, ASaC Sea King (radar dome carrier), navy Lynx MK 8 & from the Army, Agusta A109A of 8 Independent flight, attached to 22 SAS regiment.

Also seen a USAF MH-53 Pave Low & once, a pair of US Army Blackhawks at roof-top level over my house!

Canpark- is that P-3F current or pre-revolution?

Those other aircraft are from the Revolutionary Guards Air Force & Revolutionary Guards Navy and were participating in the current naval excersises in the Persian Gulf “Holy prophet”

According the Sunday Telegraph Iran has 200,000 marines, 6 submarines, Tomcats, Phantoms and Mig 29s.

    How likely is this?

According to the Telegraph Iran bombed London. When?

Mind you that paper is BILGE

Well, according to wikipedia they have 3000 Marines. The F-4 Phantom is their main fighter, with small numbers of operational F-14A & MiG-29s.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Republic_of_Iran_Air_Force

vampire- humans are intelligent enough to give animals good welfare. But it’s not a reason not to eat meat. People are naturally carnivores, there’s nothing “wrong” with that in principle. The only issue is how; whether by good welfare or not.

when jehoviahs witnesses knock on your door, do you stop and have a cosy chat or do you tell them to knob off? (serious question)

Me? Well, every time they’ve come round I’ve taken the opportunity to listen to their opinions & then question them. Relentlessly. I’ve asked them about every single one of their ideas & asked them to explain it simply.

I’ve also taken the opportunity to question them on the obvious points regarding religion. How do they really know & why take it on just trust? After 30 – 45 mins of questioning (while keeping them at the front door) they seem to become tired & irritated.
That’s when they pull out the free propaganda & try to get away quickly by saying “well, just read it if you have more questions & then we’ll come back & discuss it”.

Strangely enough, they never do.

Aah, “PETA” propaganda. They tried to convert me before. It’s like a religion. And there lies the problem. Vegetarianism tries to fight one extreme with another.
It goes from the extreme of showing the worst treatment of animals to the other of saying people shouldn’t eat not only meat, but animal products like cheese or eggs.

While I agree it is bad how many farm animals are treated & killed; it is not a reason to go to the extreme of becoming a vegan. For all the propaganda, there is no legitimate reason not to eat meat, in principle. The real point is how, not stopping completely.

There is nothing wrong with the principle of eating meat, as there is plenty of organic & free-range stuff to buy.
That’s why I won’t risk my health by not eating meat.
