A very good idea coach. This is what I meant. That is a flying wing taken 1 step further,by incorporating a central section a lift body. That is a much better design than the early flying wings, which were just a pair of wings. However, flying discs can not be dismissed,as they have existed & flown well for most of the last century.Drag was not a problem,as they were designed with a thin, wing shape profile.Do a search online about German,American & British flying discs. You should be able to find photo’s,& then you will see what I mean.
Hmmm, nice pictures. That is the South Africa flag on it.Looks like a mix of the Global Hawk & the Predator.Whats its role? Is it a UAV or a UCAV? & whats its name?
Flying disc design is the best,as it can be built around the engines, cabin, flight deck & flaps. Also, they don’t all need to rely on conventional air flow for lift,& so can be much smaller than airplanes;reducing drag & weight.
An interesting idea, but extra wings means extra drag & extra weight.Whats really needed is a bare minimum of structure. All thats really needed for flight is a lifting surface (wings).Everything else is extra.
The future needs to be flying wings or lifting bodies.nazi Germany & other countries (after the war) all worked on such designs. The Germans invented the first modern & efficient versions, which later became hovercraft & the USA tried various types with jets & anti gravity devices.Perhaps the simplest of all are the balloon discs, requiring no lift from wings,& so having smaller lifting surface.
What works best is a lifting surface only.Either a flying wing, lifting bodies or a disc. The Germans had a particular disc where everything else (engines, flaps, rudder etc) were built into the disc. This eliminated extra drag & problems of where to put them.
Better & more efficient than a Bi-plane,flying wings or flying discs are a better choice, over G.
Wow!Don’t be so sensitive! Surely you can understand the point about it being forced on people publicly? Maybe not.The point is,it should not be forced. If people want to have a “silence”,they can.I am NOT objecting to that! But it should be left to individuals to decide if they want to remember with a silence or not.
There should not be this complaining by people about others who do not join in.
Its the idea that some people EXPECT others to join in that is objectionable! Is that really so hard to understand?
Is that the limit of your ability to debate? You I’m right, these “silences” have become a fashion for the selfish in order to FORCE people to do things their particular way! Very selfish!A point, you grey, are obviously incapable of understanding!
That would be THEIR INDIVIDUAL CHOICE if they observed a “silence” for 9/11 ! I only object to the selfishness of TELLING people that they have to join a “silence” & the cry baby whinging that happens when people excersise their RIGHT not to “remember” events in THAT PARTICULAR way!
I doubt I’d be a politician, but you never know! The point I’m making (& you are not getting),is that I am only objecting to 1,2 or 3 minute silences BEING IMPOSED on people, regardles of whether it has anything to do with them & regardless of whether they agree with the wars being celebrated! If you need to have a “silence” to help you deal with thinking something, fine,go nuts!
Just don’t turn around & whinge to everyone one else that they didn’t join in,when its a matter of individual choice!
Now do you get it?
Well nermal, those “chances” are wrong! I know about the world wars,I studied them.I don’t object to people who were involved in the wars remembering about it. What I object to,is the annual ritual made out of everyone elses lives being interrupted so that the remembering of some is FORCED on to everyone else & disrupts the public lives of people who either have nothing to do with it or object to those wars! Very insensitive!
If its about “all the wars” why is it they only ever go on about the world wars? Why then should I have any participation in making a public show of having a slience, for wars that had either nothing to do with me or I can not bring myself to condone (Iraq war) ?
I always wonder about the thinking powers of people who have a need to indulge in a public show of sympathy for something,in a bid to out do others!
That “remembrance day” IS mostly old fogeys! Its a fact! I have nothing against them being nostalgic for their war (younger) days, but why does it have to be forced on everyone (not just in public places),whether they want it or not? Surely its a matter of individual choice whether or not people want to make a public show of thinking about the wars of the past? Its bad enough it takes over the TV & radio schedule & interrupts normal viewing, but y does it have to be forced on everyone in public places as well? I remember at secondary school, they interrupted our lesson & teacher TOLD everyone to “get up for the minute silence”. (in those days,it was still a 1 minute silence!).Totally ignoring our rights as individuals to decide whether we want to make a show of it by standing up,or just observing the silence anyway! & totally failing to remind us that it was not compulsory to stand.
Since when do school kids ever worry about things like war ceremonies? & totally ignoring us as individuals, who hold individual opinions.Individual opinions like pacifist opinions & who don’t agree with publicly celebrating wars; especially wars that involve mass murder of civilians & celebrating defeats of opressed peoples.Hence,I excersised MY RIGHT not to be forced into public celebrations of wars & thought about wars in my own private time,NOT on my school work time!
But its true! Y has it suddenly increased to 3 minutes? Anyone know? My point remains, what is this obsession with public displays of silence? If you want to pause in your life to think about thngs like that, fine,go nuts. But y do some people expect to impose it on everyone else,in public? Surely its a matter of personal choice, whether or not 1 stops their activities in public,to think about something? It seems there is a growing need with some people to engage in recreational grief.I can understand people who have some kind of personal involvement in this disaster doing it,but the majority of people I see going on about this, upon questioning, admit this disaster had nothing to do with them!
It seems to be a big insecurity in some people, that is only dealt with by engaging in public recreational grief (even if they had nothing to do with it),in some morbid bid to publicly out do each other to show their sympathy! Individual sympathy for disaster victims is fine, but I have to wonder about people who feel a need to publicly out do each other in a bid to make a show of it.
No,didn’t know there was a required “silence”.What time was it? Would not have made much difference,as I was alone yesterday,so I didn’t have a chance 2 be “silent” from talking!
This recreational grief is going too far.It used to be a “1 minute silence”,then it was upped to “2 minute silence”,now its suddenly a “3 minute silence”???!! Who says? y is it increased? What next? A “5 minute silence”?
It used to be a “silence” just for the nostalgic old fogeys on “remembrance day” in November. Now its a “silence” no less than DEMANDED from the public for any chance they can get.
What started this morbid death obsession?
I can’t pick a favourite UK song,so I’ll write the top few on my music want list. Rolling stones “Paint it black” Arthur Brown “Fire”,The Moody blues “Knights in white satin”,Hot chocolate “Everones a winner”,Gary Newman “Cars”,The Police “Every little thing she does is magic”,Elton John “Rocketman” & “Crocodile rock”,Ah-ha “take on me”,Duran duran “Save it untill the morning after” & “Ordinary world” Garbage “Stupid girl” & Fatboyslim “Right here, right now”.
They are the main records at the top of my list.Any of them SHOULD be chosen as number 1 UK record! What do u think?
From that list David Bowie’s “Heroes” is the best, followed by “Golden brown” by the Stranglers. Also,je t’aime from the 60’s.CHAMONE,thats fab.I’ve always laughed when I hear that, its so weird! Also, reminds of that TV advert with 2 snails going at it it,while je t’aime record plays. SOOO funny!
