Dammit! I’m too far away to hear them!

Off to Chartwell this afternoon so I should see them on their flightpath down to the coast 🙂

    Dan

p.s. It annoys me that the South Camp is now security pass controlled, I can’t get anywhere near the BBMF’s stabling point 😡

Sea Fury, Hawks, Eurofighters and Magista’s at Biggin Hill (see attached pictures). BBMF Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane hidden just out of sight on the far side of the South Camp.

I only just managed to see it over the opposite rooftop, in the distance. ATC seems next to useless today 😮

I think you must have heard the BBMF return earlier, they are only displaying at Eastbourne today. The Hercules must be around somewhere as well.

Why did you bet the CO we could fly this back to Valley side-saddle?

I think he means this one:

Looks more like a LaGG-3 to me, but I can see the similarities without the tail section.

I did this during the final few months of my A-Levels.

It was a Friday during March 2002, we were pretty bored as several lessons had been cancelled on a day when we had few anyway. So, at 8:30 I decided to do a bit of drawing practice in the library, inspiration coming from the Corgi models in that years Friends of RIAT catalogue. I had one hour break for a maths lesson, mid-morning break, lunchtime and afternoon registration.

Finished the drawing half-way through the last lesson of the day, which was Physics.

I have a Fujimi 1/72 scale F14A Tomcat, a Fujimi 1/72 scale Sea Harrier FRS.1 and a 1/48 scale Lysander that have still to be made. There is also a Revell Bf109G that still hasn’t been painted despite the model having been made for the past 4 years!

The chav’s would probably think “Yay! A blank canvas to grafitti!” 😡

You could probably recreate those stripes by making custom transfers on the computer and printing them on blank transfer paper.

I’m thinking that those Sea Fury’s would be nice, if fitted with the proper Bristol Centaurus engines 🙂

Surely it was done in Pearl Harbour with the RAF manned by American officers?

I did think in 2000 what it would be like to re-create the Battle of Britain in a small scale, replicating the events perhaps of a significant day. Sadly there are not enough Luftwaffe aircraft available 🙁
