I would guess at 1995.
The Spitfires are carrying the squadron codes used in the BBC Drama “Over Here” and the Bf109 (now with the Messerschmitt foundation?) also appeared in that production along with a suitably repainted ‘Black 6’. That show was aired during the Easter weekend in 1995.

p.s. lovely pictures by the way, better than the ones I took! 😉
Perhaps a statue of Sir Keith Park would be a more approriate choice – covers several different facets as well as giving him the credit he deserves for commanding 11 Group during the Battle of Britain.

Dan
Thanks Roobarb, hope to be able to see it then fairly soon 😉
Thanks for posting the pictures and video TF, a nice fix until the airshow season begins again!

Nice to see a warbird out and about at this time of year 🙂
Any idea as to whether TA805 will remain at Duxford until the Spring, or return to Biggin Hill once these tests are completed?

Dan
That will be the QinetiQ Jag based at Boscombe Down, currently the only one flying.

I wonder how many Hunters could be made available to do a fly past with the Vulcan? Or even get the Sea Vixen up for one show?

Made my first Airfix kit when I was 7 – a friend gave me the the BBMF PZ865 model for my birthday and it went on from there. Still haven’t got around to learning the art of using an airbrush to paint the things
Oh, any ideas how to keep your collection clean? 😉

Dan
*Ding-dong* Avon calling 😀
Sky hog!!!! Get out of the way!!
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
It occurs to me that a name change of the supporting organisation from VTTS to VITS might be in order 😉 😀
Well done to the TVOC, VTTS et al – hope to see XH558 down south next year!

I would imagine that your first year reading list will mostly comprise of books that cover the basics that will be required for aeronautics e.g. Fluid Mechanics. Besides, most University book shops or major chain stores near to universities e.g. Waterstones, tend to do student discout during the first two weeks or so of the Autumn semester.
