Woops, slightly going red faced here, I was looking at it there and noticed a little too late its real identity and its too late to delete it now too 😛 Shouldn’t be long before photos emerge, id imagine it’s too big a catch for the anti Assad media campaign to ignore.

I wonder will this trigger more defections now that someone had the guts to do it?

Can’t believe this didn’t get much attention. Here’s a photo of the MiG anyway.

I’m pretty certain China won’t be the one to start it.( Hint: look at the increasingly noisy, bellicose and provocative statements coming from a certain country the other side of the Pacific.)

I hope your right because the Country on the other side of the Pacific won’t be firing the first shot either and no one wants war. However I do believe that they will initiate hostilities first. The economist magazine I believe it was last month had an article from a Chinese government approved magazine and the author said something along the lines of the Asian nations will have to get used to a confident assertive China and if they don’t they will have to get used to the sound of cannons on the high seas. It was not word for word i’m recalling from memory here, but I will go to my local library and scan the article for you. If the Chinese government is approving this message and we know it is a highly censored industry in China then I think it gives a pretty clear indication of were things are going. They are 100% not building up their military to drop aid packages for the poor or to use carriers and nuclear subs for humanitarian purposes, they are being built for one purpose. History is full of build ups and this is no different , it’s the beginning of a shift in global power.

…….And I now understand why the rest of the world say they must contain China….

Exactly, if they had the military muscle to match their ambitiously absurd territorial claims there would be WWIII of that I have no doubt.

Just imagine this happening 10 years down the line with a much larger Chinese navy including carrier fleets and all those extra submarines being worked on. The Asian Pacific nations need to stand up and face this threat now before it’s too late, obviously with a lot of help from America. I can smell the smoke now…….the flames aren’t too far off!

Giblets, then i guess it comes down to the mod’s final word in monitoring the threads. If we could get a Mod on here to lend their thoughts and perhaps introduce a new rule on titling threads which so far the majority of posters would prefer, it would be most welcome.

These photos were taken in Jalloud air force base last September. There appears to be sizeable enough numbers of aircraft left intact, God only knows what condition they are in now. Has the air force been properly reformed I wonder or have the different rebel factions just held control of anything they captured?

I agree, it’s silly and has no relevance to anything. I don’t mean be a bore but this is among the premier aviation websites if not the best overall and the naming of threads in a childish manner is taking away from the feel of it ever so slightly. That’s my own personal thoughts on the matter.

Well in the film “Battleship” there is an Australian super hornet, well the pilot is anyway, he says “locked on target” in a quite unmistakable Australian accent , has the flag on his helmet but is flying in a US navy formation.

Would it be possible for the Israelis to retrofit their A,B,C,D model Eagles to carry these bunker buster bombs? It would add another 58 bombers to the fleet. With their experience in the aero industry I wouldn’t put it beyond them. What sort of mods would be required, structural reinforcement, hardened pylons? Also how are these weapons guided, laser designation or the same manner as jdam?

Wow, so F22 production hasn’t shut down at all, they are secretly building them in China now, at least the US air force won’t have a problem with attrition replacements 😀 😛
