Good news that in the future it will get the 10 t thrust engine, but there has been talk abt 11-12 tonne engines as weell …. hope, the first one to be delivered have the 10t engine …

Panther, You have not as yet posted the extracts to back up your contribution. I hope that it is not another “a tour guide told me ” story. I would like to know also what is the source for your claim the Irish Air Corps weather reports were sent on by radio to the RAF. What was the need to when daily reports were sent from Blacksod, Malin Head,Birr Castle, Valentia and Roches Point, all in neutral territory,to the Air Ministry?

the irish did not broadcast directly to the RAF but they did broadcast these reports on a frequency available to shipping in the area that they knew the british kept tabs on,so they did but didnt at the same time!german condors were regularly intercepted or chased by RAF fighters because of these broadcasts!it is documented in a couple of books!il have a look when i get home and post them up here!

i used to have that corsair!il try to put up some of my models up here when i take some pics of them!it will be monday or tuesday though!dont have many intact ones left:-(

i have a whole of load of them lying around the house!got a lot of MiG29s in various conditions!it is very hard to keep them in good condition when you have 3brothers that younger than you and are addicted to dropping them!

well doesnt sound like much of a fighter if its going to run away or be a pest?if thats the case why dont countries just refurbish something like an F-4Phantom(which has good range also) bolt on as much fuel tanks as possible and a couple of missles to make it look pretty??i think the flanker is over rated.its main advantage is fuel.thats nearly it.but in a straight fight between the latest flanker and latest fulcrum it would be down to the skill of the pilots to determine who the winner would be!

when equipped with the same weapons sensors etc what are the real advantages the flanker has over the fulcrum?i dont think there are many apart from range?the mig can turn better in a dogfight (or so i believe?) and if they have the same weapons bvr should be down to whoever gets a lock first?so how can the flanker be all that much better than people say it is?
