I’ve been following his ship’s progress for a while. Not mentioned in the article is that she is the first of two confirmed ships to be built with an option for a third. I think she’s a lovely looking ship too if I do say so myself.

Russian jets have entered Ukrainian airspace according to the Pentagon. Ukrainian Fulcrum’s and Flanker’s have been active recently in the area too as seen on most news channel’s last week. Very volatile indeed.

Hmmm humorous I suppose, though at times brings interesting debates downstairs quick. What was his sig as F18Hamburger. ……if I remember correctly it was international pornsuperstar/pornstar. Lighthearted to say the least. It’s funny though he’s kind of getting support here now! :-L

You should also not try to derail a thread with a post as stupid as this and quite evidently on purpose. I wouldn’t even expect this from the Hotdog of old. If you want to contribute then do so meaningful.

    Though going with original requirements,

    50 MiG-35 Multi role fighter’s.

20 PC-21 configured as lift, can do the same job as a jet without the fuel bill.

12 Britten norman Defenders, Utility, training and observation aircraft.

8 AN-70 Transport and ability for quick conversion to tanker aircraft with roll on roll off kits.

18 C-295 -8 transports , 6 MPA and 4 configured with Erieye AEW. One common platform for ease of maintenance.

40 Mi-17 Transport and armed support.

    20 EC-635 Training and general purpose/utility.

Thats it. No need for any Vip fleet or helicopter gunships. They are a hole in budgets. If a politican wants a ride abroad go first class on the state airline or borrow one just like Britain’s PM.If gunships are required slap on rocket pods, cannon pods and laser guided missiles on a Hip along with associated guidance equipment. The same can be said for the Ec635’s.

Going with your second set of rules regarding fuel and budget a turboprop equipped squadron of Super tucanos and a few mi17’s would be all that could be efficently run. Its that or buy maybe 2 super hornet’s ! Maybe a more sensible ceiling on both is required. Sure you could buy a few jf17 but they would gobble up each allocation farely quickly and you wouldnt have much left to buy any other type in meaningfull numbers.

No that’s not what he means. NATO is supporting the rebels, not the Syrian regime. And since the Syrian army is slowly seizing ground that had been lost to the rebels, bombing the Syrians might be the only choice of NATO to help take control of the country. If they don’t manage to sell they idea to their population, and for now they don’t, then Israel will do (and is doing) the job.

    Nic

He is very clear, he says if Syria falls, i.e if the Government falls or implodes on itself, ceases to be, that his forces will destroy Syrias weapons inventory to prevent weaponry falling into the hands of militants. He doesn’t mean wipe out the government forces if the rebellion fails. His concern is chemical, biological and advanced missile systems falling into the wrong hands.
