US to extend F16 and F/A-18 fleets service life
The Air Force plans to upgrade and extend the service life of 300 F-16 aircraft and the Navy 150 F/A-18 aircraft, at a combined cost estimated at almost $5 billion in fiscal year 2013 dollars.
The Air Force plans to extend the service life of selected F-16s by 2,000 flying hours each as well as install capability upgrades such as an improved radar.
Was that probe retrofitted to the MiG from a Mirage F1? It looks almost identical. Ouhh thanks for the Libyan pics, great finds.
. Iraq cancels $4.2bn Russian arms deal over ‘corruption’
Iraq has cancelled a $4.2bn (£2.6bn) deal to buy arms from Russia because of concerns about “corruption”, an Iraqi government advisor has said.

By my count 6 MiG-21’s have been pictured in service. Tail serials 069, 073, 114, 208, 800 and 804. Does anyone know if the MiG-23’s they were flying during the war still in use, also is it only 1 ch47 still flying? Cheers
Russian air force to upgrade MiG-25R’s
The Russian defense ministry has decided to modernize the air force’s surviving MiG-25 spyplanes for service until 2020.

TEHRAN (FNA)- A deputy commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force announced on Saturday that the IRIAF is manufacturing 2 new pilot training jets.

If things keep going ugly then I reckon Syria could be possibly next to retire(forcibly) their MiG’s .
That may be unneccessary. I’m under impression that delayed the return for repairs in order to finish the flight tests.
Correct repairs were postponed to finish flight trials to validate the Vik’s capability to operate an air wing, though TR1 was asking if the Russians will allow the Kuznetzov to be used to actually train the Indian navy personnel in carrier ops while Vikramidtya is in for repairs , to compensate for lost time on deck. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
