Hope to be there too, as others have said, if the weather plays ball its a great show.
Intriguing. There does appear to be some discrepancies about this in various references I have.
Aircraft Crash Log(Nick Roberts 1979) has L6965 as lost on 24th August 1940, as does
Defiant File(Alec Brew 1996) but The Turret Fighters(Alec Brew 2002) mentions L6965 as lost on 13 May 1940.
So if this is correct then we have a mystery of which aircraft Gaskell & Machin were flying on 24th August.

On 13th May 1940, 6 Defiants of B flight of 264 Sqn were patrolling near the Hague. While attacking Ju 87Bs they were bounced by Bf 109Es. Five of the six Defiants were shot down against four Ju 87s and one Bf 109E.
Yes, thanks for sharing, some great shots. Wish I was there.
Still deciding on Abingdon or Old Warden same day. Hmm…
I should be there too.

Wow, thanks for sharing, it looks like a quick assembly, perhaps test flying soon.
Hi, as for Defiant survivors, there are a couple of war-grave wrecks. One off the coast of Scotland(Moray) and another that was spotted in Lock Ness during the extraction of the Wellington that’s now at Brooklands. There have been rumours of major surviving parts ‘somewhere in Wales’ but no hard evidence. Also stories of crates of Defiant Wing sections buried under what’s now a supermarket car park in Desford where the firm Reid & Sigrist were based, who carried out repair work on Defiants and did most of the conversion of the Defiant I fighters to TT.III configuration.
Regarding a new flying replica, I did hear the man involved with the MB.5 has a friend with similar interests and had been considering the Defiant as a possible project, so who knows it could happen.
As for other BoB types, I think it was Charles Church who came closest to getting a Fairey Battle up and running. A shame this did not succeed.
btw, the BPA website is easier to get to and remember via http://www.boultonpaul.com
Sounds good, I should be there too.
Wow, another Boulton Paul Type E turret. Any idea where it was headed? Would like to add details to my list of preserved BP associated items: http://www.boultonpaul.com/preserved/
Ditto. I also hope to see/meet others at EK.

Looks great, well done.
Sounds great to me. eMail sent with fingers crossed.
Shame, I enjoyed that one too. Was well worth the journey from deepest Hampshire.
I agree, WOW.
