Hi Steve. I’ve a funny feeling that my finger is being pulled here by my mate. There was definitely only five Yaks that landed back at DTV, I’ll post a photo tomorrow.

    Chris.

Great photos there, I spent the day at MME.

Can you confirm an aircraft had to ditch into the sea. Only five of the Aerostars and three of the Blades returned to Teesside (DTV).

John, are you going up to tend to the Vulcan tommorow? Weather looks fine!

I’m going to MME on Saturday to see the airshow movements and hopefully the airshow on Sunday.

Going by your photo’s, I still think you have space to get the vulcan towed forward about 20 feet or so?

There is quite a lot of space in front of it……..

I’ve been at Newcastle College for the last two years studying Avionics Engineering with a bit of workshop thrown in ie. riveting and sheet metal work. Probably not relevant but iv’e also done RADAR and NAV, Pitot static, di-icing systems, theory of flight and aircraft electric machines/motors. I’m moving up to the Academy at Newcastle Airport in September.

Brittania: Its 10 miles, maximum. get the metro to the Stadium of light or the centre of town, then get the bus (56 or X88) to nissan. It will take an hour max. The chairman comes from Keilder, Misha is from Newcastle too, (and I live half a mile away, so I can’t comment…..). The air cadets from Chester-le-Street have also started coming down. Our memebrs come from miles around. There is nothing to say you have to treat it like a job… once a month is better than nothing! We have alot going on. Thanks for the interest, and the pics of 319 (Mine always end up too small on here…)

Thanks for your help. I’m very interested. What activities could I expect to do on the Vulcan if I was to turn up?

If it bothers you that much to see 319 looking so unwell come and help!!!!!!!

I would love too. I’m currently on my summer holidays and twiddling my thumbs at home. I could spend hours at the NEAM helping out, I would find it really rewarding. The only problem is getting there.

    Chris 🙂
