Homer, on this board that I can think of there’s myself, FlyMonarch, Softlad, Lukeylad and Wysiwyg all current, ex or wannabe cabin crew, all straight, and we can’t be the only ones.
Of course there are a lot of gay guys in the industry, but there are way more straight guys than you might think. I flew on a 767 recently with an all male cabin crew, all straight. The only gay crewmember was the Captain, whose girlfriend is cabin crew.

Since i started flyin as cabin crew i have noticed so many more guys joining the team, an a lot of which are straight, i too have been on a flight on a 757 to ALC, with a entire male crew, all of which straight, the only gay crew member was the F/O……….the supprise on the faces of the pax however was a different story when a 757 full of rowdy lads and stags boarded not seeing 1 female insight was a picture..
But dont worry being straight will really not go against you for being crew.
if you are worried about what others will think the kind of ”is he….isnt he” then maybe its not for you? only saying as i know of a lot of straight guys leave because they didnt like the fact that pax thought they may have been gay, which was a shame cuz the guy in particular was very good at his job.
its just one of those things i guess.. a lot jobs are sterotyped for both male an female, such as Crew, Nurses, Hairdressers, PE Teachers to name a few…..a shame but this is kinda the world we live in!
