That’s great news Mike, I look forward to seeing you there.
There is more than enough space for all who would like to attend, and you’re quite correct Damyns Hall is an attractive all grass airfield, 10 mins of the M25.
I’ll make sure you chaps have a nice area to display near the flight line, the beer tent is the largest on site ( 40′ x 120′ ) and situated on the flight line, what more could one ask?
Glen.
There is no pressing time limit for making a booking, we just need to know who is coming so we can adjust the space accordingly, there is more than enough room for everybody! If undercover space is needed we’ll need to know a few weeks in advance so the marquees can be ordered and erected.
Glen.
Just to whet your appetites further all of the display aircraft have been confirmed including the Huey helicopter which did an amazing display last year. In addition the lovely Kitten Von Mew is very probably performing, DING DONG! as Leslie Phillips would say! We can accomodate anybody who requires covered space but as this will be by specially erected marquees we need to know before the event so these can be arranged.
100+ military vehicles booked in already as well as 20+ re-enactment groups, it’s starting to build, Why not join us!
GARN! just finished the welding, fish ‘n chips next.
Whatever and however you want to display is fine, we can discuss the details of whatever you want to do nearer the time. As it’s a working airfield there is no covered space but once we know what people need we can arrange to have marquee space for everybody who wants it.
There is indeed beer available, the beer tent is the biggest marquee on site ( 40′ x 120′) and yes they do serve all those funny sounding brews you like to drink, last year there was a discount card scheme in operation, the more you drank the bigger the savings, oh dear!
No, the MVT are still in existence and in fine fettle. The Military and Flying Machines show is no longer an MVT event so is now run by a new charity, the Essex Historic Military Vehicle Association.
Bunsen is quite correct, as at Newark anything you want to exhibit will be welcomed, cockpits, panels, clothing, equipment, from Icarus to Ryan Air and everything in between! If you’re passionate about your interest and want to bring it to a larger audience then please join us. The show regularly has public attendance between 18,000-20.000 this year promises to be even higher. Damyns Hall is an old fashioned all grass airstrip offering a great view of the airshow, the details of which are on our show website.
Hi,
I’ve seen many wartime panels over the years but the only time I’ve ever seen those large Rotary Switches are on the Short Stirling bomber. Is this panel part of the main instrument panel? or perhaps a seperate internal panel from the Stirling? Whatever it is my guess is something from the early part of WW2.
For a military vehicle show this event has a superb flying display planned, I’ve just checked on line and am very impressed to see a :eagerness:Huey will be displaying, looks like my weekend is spoken for!:eagerness:
