JXA is in on a shoppers special for the weekend, was due to leave today, but, the airport is completely shut just now, so may be here a wee bit longer now :p Good pics in trying circumstances…well done.
Top stuff, as usual.
BBJ gets my vote too. A real pain when you take a day trip and the weather is like that (i once flew GLA-LHR for a days spotting, and the place was shrouded in very thick fog, very spooky up on the Queens building, hearing everything, seeing nothing) Transitting thru AMS on the 24th and 26th of this month(4 hours each time)hopefully better weather than you got.
Excellent shots
Heard stories yesterday of spotting at London City, guy was told not to take photos but was ok to stand there with Binos.
They seem pretty heavy against spotters there….i was parked in a parking bay and was approached within 2 minutes of arriving, and made to leave(and STILL had to pay!!!) for anyone going there, i now go beyond the car park, to the catering companies area, there is a small car park there, the catering guys don’t seem to mind, and as it’s not on the car park property the security don’t bother with you, and is excellent for shooting/spotting,
I believe one A310 is already in the new scheme.
Heres one from GLA a few weeks back
Had a recent correspondence with a chap who works for PIA at MAN, and the word from the engineers there is the 777 will be introduced at GLA and FRA in the not too distant future(poss waiting on more a/c delivered??) Hopefully not too soon, want some nice summer shots of those A310’s 🙂
Top work that man!!! Shame about the mire, the A310 would have been top in sunlight…. was the Eirjet a footy charter, or does it go to LPL regular?? Still not seen one yet!!
Hard lines btw to the Kop 🙁 , but at least Moanrhinho’s mob got put out too, along with Rangers 🙂 🙂 ,(not all doom and gloom)
Thanks for that, Phil. Passed that pub, many times, never thought to do the unheard of activity of walking hehe. Cheers.
Hey Phil.
Whereabouts is there at LGW for shooting?? stopped on a layby at the end of the runway once, lasted about 40 secs before plod moved me on, and found a service road runs alongside the runway, but, didnt think i’d get much joy there… BTW we have a bit of an understanding still ongoing with the GLA cops/security. which has even led to the police helping to approve the BAA building a new spotters mound coming soon here.
Guys. Thanks again for the comments 😎 The A330 is A7-AEA it is Qatar Airways aircraft on a scheduled flight.
Tenthije; depending on traffic/time of day etc… i can usually do it in under 6 hours through the night. (that is a medium range jolly for me…i have recently done Glasgow to Rome, Prague, Lyon, Porto,Zurich and all over France,Germany,Netherlands and Belgium, as my job, good perks are free spotting trips, although time restricted 😉 )
Thanks Mark
Que c’era on the Brazilians 🙁 Read about them coming on the LHR list) last i heard was due late night/early morning..Unfortunately, my job dictates what time i get at airports. Not bad though, was there from 11am till 3:30 then back up the motorway to Glasgow, beats my usual “touch and go” 😀
Thanks guys.
Nice to get a day with sun at Heathrow when i visit for a change
Have to agree, that is just a wee nip at GSM, totally pointless by EZY, Really can’t see EZY do much more at EDI, as GLA is to become a new hub, and NCL takes care of the east coast. Have to laugh at the line on the EZY blurb:
“Today’s announcement also holds “exciting” news for Scotland” the excitement of 1 weekly flight, taking on GSM’s daily flight….not really Foreman V Ali…….
