Aye Wids.. would have been nice for better quality traffic.. still..,nice getting them baby dash 8’s.. best of the lot being the Albanian ATR and the 208 fair chance i will get back again.. it’s a bit of a regular job..as is various points in Italy.. thats my next target!!
shame!! cheers Widdy
info i got from a Greek spotter is dont shoot at military fields fine at civil. the Ikea car park runs half the length of the taxiway and when i got there at 9pm there were lots of folk along the fence…not spotters..all sitting watching the action.. in the morning i made no secret i was shooting and had police and airport security driving past quite often without batting an eyelid at me, the closer landing shots were taken from a public road outside the airport again no problems.. i never went to the terminal freight or runway 03R area, but generally seemed quite relaxed
Cheers!
Aye.. it seems Aegean are the prime operator out of ATH.
Thanks.. Indeed!
I don’t know if it is impounded or stored…. could have put it a bit nearer for shooting though!!!:dev2:
I have to say knowing most of the Embra photographers i find it HIGHLY unlikely that any of them have done this.. I can see why they are blaming photographers..the hole was big enough to stick a large lens thru…utterly impossible for a person to fit through which makes you feel this is a huge over reaction by the security. We all know that having spotters round a perimeter are the best set of extra eyes an airport security can have, but, bloody minded airport authorities have no interest in that. This is clearly an excuse for Embra security to justify shifting spotters away from the perimeter and unfortunately this kind of thing can have a snowball effect and start affecting other airports. I hate to admit it but the only people ever likely to cut a large lens size hole would be a photographer..we have all seen patched up holes in fences,so unfortunately 1 eejit may have wrecked things for all of us.
