Thanks… by having a long walk over a dirty field LOL!.
There is a farmers field at the guardbridge end which leads up to the perimeter fence, about 10 mins walk thru the field which is south enough of the runway to shoot. You can also continue further along the southern perimeter on to the beach for a better position, but a fair trek. I only had about 3 hours to spend so just stayed in the field. Also handy for shots like the first one of the arrows and the 4 taxiing Strikemasters as you can stand on the fence and shoot clear over the fence.

Blimey…. quick reply.. Yes indeedy EDI has been getting some cracking stuff of late, The private 747SP was in for an oil convention in Aberdeen, and the Hong Kong Gulfy was in for a few days at the weekend, shot it while heading home from Leuchars Air show, but, backlit, so, got up early and ran all the way thru to EDI just to try get it in sun!! (took about 40 mins of patient waiting till the sun shone on her for about 1 minute!!)

Regarding the title I was expecting some nice 747 shots because ”Queen of the Skies” is her slogan (luckily you got the AF and Giant 747, saved my day).
    Nice shots.

    Fair shout there Maikel.
Maybe the 380 should be known as KING of the skies from here on in?
(off to don flak jacket and hide from the Renton/Everett posse:dev2:)
