BA A380s meh!! Old hat hehe..only jesting Stu..good set
Am en route to LHR now..with camera..I will have a wee sniff around if its still outside
Just to reiterate lads this is the opinion of an engineer in the hangar..not to my knowledge a Boeing specialist..but clearly taking an interest in the case
Sandy what you describe above is probably what he meant by “cut and shut” I thought he was kidding!
Perhaps if it is still sitting outside in daylight someone could get a shot of the damage
Am out without camera am afraid.wasnt expecting to be at heathrow..and fone camera would not do it…the aircraft is no longer in the hangar..sitting at the no1 base..well it was at 2am
Done a delivery to the former bmi hangar where the 787 has been getting examined..the engineer I spoke to said this is #possibly# very likely to be the first 787 to get scrapped…short of doing a chop shop job on it…something about tensile qualities of the fuselage materials (or something) had a quick look (in darkness)at the aircraft …looks like the scorch is now a hole!!
disclaimer: just adding what I got told..I dont purport to be a boeing super expert before abuse flies my way….aka calm doon people!
Great ! Unusual low summer lighting. Where else would you get such a mixture of, particularly, long haul gems. Not seeing any scorch marks…yet…on the BA 787.
Keep them coming…
Yes.. still got a shiny rear end
To be honest, the photos seem a bit unsharp. Not sure if that is compression, heathaze or other factors. Does your camera have a lense calibration feature? I had my lenses calibrated and it made a lot of difference.
The TAM and Iberia 330 are nice catches. Are both of those regulars or replacements for regular 777 (TAM) and A320 (IB) services?
Thanks Pieter… i thought so too… not sure if maybe a photobucket compression issue as the originals seem a lot crisper, will check out for lens calibration..havent heard of that before..
The 767 was i think an extra flight, as the 777 had come in an hour earlier, the IBE A330 is a daily flight around 5pm
Thanks Chris
Had known it was coming in, nearly missed the beastie as it wasnt showing on FR24 and i was about to jump down the hill to the van as it arrived!! phew!
Just over halfway thru the “horror” season here…less than 4 weeks till we get our peace back!, you guys down south don’t know how lucky you are… you get to keep your brats in school during the best of our summer

…you actually get dinner ! ?:very_drunk:
Only at great cost!!:love-struck: Actually the grub was quite good, just have to be an expert juggler with the wee tables lol
Are you sure Scotty ? Just checked Flightdata24 and it’s not flying but flew to Sanford from Manchester today.
Yup, was watching it on FR24 for half an hour..landed back at MAN about 25 mins ago… just been reported on BBC news too
LHR has definitely reopened now, STN , BHX, MAN and EDI seem to have taken some divs in (IBE A330 to BHX if anyone wants to know)
Maybe unrelated but Thomson 787 G-TUIC is returning to MAN after being advised to hold over the Irish sea past 2 hours
Pieter: off the topic sorry, is the viewing deck still open at Schiphol? Whenever i visit its usually in the van so around the various perimeter spots, but, have planned about 5 hours transit on way to Dubai in September and hoping to spend it on the terrace.
Mighty fine Rab.. mighty fine… i can attest to the 753 being cramped, flew out and back in both 753’s to Tunisia couple of weeks ago, also, the tiniest table to try eat dinner from lol
