Great stuff there Rab from the dark side!! Twotter is a wee stoater.. must have been a training flight: Senior pilot to trainee “Yes.. this is about where we would flare the nose up… now….. now…. NOWWWWWWW!!!!!”
Hope you don’t mind me hijacking your thread thought i’d add a few i took at the same time:
KLM Fokker 50
FlyBe Dash 8 Logo prop
BA Ted
US Grummy
The rest i took are broadly similar to yours (oddly my shot of the MD90 that i’m happiest with is identical to the one you’ve chosen…..hmmm (The force??)(synchronised shutter clicking)
Cheers Laddies
Aye Rab, very happy to catch that beastie.
James, think it was just doing a usual cargo jobby
Thanks Jamie, the light was top over there today.
Welcome aboard sir,
If you mean about where to spot etc… Chatoureux is just off the A20(E9) motorway(with a handy MacDonalds next door)at the junction of the N151 you really can’t miss the place very close to the motorway, lots of stored A300’s DC10’s etc.. when i last passed, you can drive around the perimeter of the field and get quite close to the parked stuff, there is also a small dirt track that runs up towards the end of the runway. A place well worth a visit if you are near it.
Lyon there are a few places at Lyon for spotting, probably best is to the rear of the Cargo ramp towards the Air France Regional maintenance hangar,(an old Air Tansat Tristar was stored here last time i visited) you can park up around here (i’ve never had any problems) and from the fence you have great ramp views and if on 36’s, very close taxiing aircraft. There is also a great dirt mound area adjacent to the end of R/W 18R from the D517 take the D517E toward the airport and follow your nose, a wee bit hard to find the access road at first.
Also, you can see what is in the various cul de sacs by accessing the maintenance area off the D517E you will see a stored Caravelle, and on the south side of the terminal, in the cargo area you can see stuff (not too clever for shooting though)
I believe there is also a veiwing area in the terminal… but, i’ve never been in the terminal.
Hope thats of some use.
James: i believe he means dot spotting (flyovers)
And so to Edinburgh today at tea time for 45 minutes in lovely hot SUN!!!
Very nice surprise in the form of KLM 737 with winglets, have’nt seen any shots of this in the UK yet:

That is that!
Nice wee set there Robert the Qantas is a cracker.
Anyone know whats with YMMG?? looks like its been pulled through a hedge backwards:eek:
Shmashing stuff Woody
That wee digi does some great shots 🙂
Well done on being what appears to be the ONLY person to shoot the Thai pig…Excellent!!!:D
Great stuff there, need to get the boss to get some work for me to Amsterdam soon 😀 😀
Never mind Woody… he is just a snob:p :p 😮 , (tell him the 2nd Transavia shot is complete… go on… tell him, tell him!!!):D

Si the VS is on a short charter season GLA-MCO on saturdays (not sure for how long 4/5 weeks??) will also be doing 2 flights in October and extended summer 08 season as well as Easter 08
Well done you!
And a great shot too.
Cheers Widdy
Yes the big 40 on monday, and theres nowt strange about Clydebank…………well, actually never mind that 😀
Si. The bottles probably were full as the rear cabin was closed behind a glass wall!!! as was unfortunately, the cockpit, very hard for shooting through.
Never managed to shoot the Merlins, but they are visible just forward of the AN225 nose in the first shot, one had started just after the 225 left, but, i had to rush off to do a job:dev2:
Cheers again all
Many congrats, very well done.
Now….
Any chance you can swing a drive in the colourful dash 8 and bring it to GLA (preferably a sunny day… and one when i’m there:D )
Good on yer.
Brilliant shots Scotty like the Skywings MD-82 was it on sunday you took that shot as I saw it flying into Manston. And does that Bright yellow Bn-2 for the Scottish amberlance does it fly?
James
Thanks James
No it was on monday afternoon (but i think it does come via Manston??)
The Islander is in a hangar at the museum, it was retired from GLA about 2 years ago and replaced with 2 shiny new King Airs (yellow also)i daresay it could be easily restored back to flying condition.. of all the exhibits it is by far the smartest/ least worn.
Nowt wrong with that lot Darth, Great light on the last one of the landing AF lump and the hybrid Transavia pig too.
Great!!!
oh by the way the pap is a richard branson 😉 WELL DONE
Darth Vada ( darkside aviation )..
