Caz, You can spot from the catering company area, which is beyond the car park (which is where i go to shoot, see my post from thursday for some LCY shots) point of note, if you park IN the car park, don’t spot from there,as i got thrown out by security, who do not like spotters. (the place i mention beyond the car park is outside their area!!)
You can walk back out from the terminal towards the GAT (again don’t spot in the GAT car park) head up to the roundabout which overlooks the entire ramp.
HTH

As promised.for James, some more LCY shots:

thanks! 🙂 what zoom is required for the shots from near the flying club and the BMI hanger?
Adam. I use an 80-300mm which is actually a bit too much, from the car park i’d imagine good runway shots are possible too, the L100 full frame was shot using my 25-75mm at about 50mm.
Thanks again for the comments guys. and yes Phil, shattered, as i had got home tuesday morning at 4am from Ipswich, up at 7 to work all day, home to catch the footy then off to Warrington at 11pm, couple of hours kip in the van,job done then off to Sheffield etc… got back to Glasgow at midnight last night. (now hoping for a possible wee work jolly to Budapest tonight, does’nt look too likely, already missed out on a job to Munich this morning 😡 😀 )
Thanks lads
Adam; The AN124 and DHL were shot from near to the flying club at a small car park overlooking the DHL ramp, The rear view of the AN26 ,just round from there near the BMI hangar, the L100 from a road that leads to 2 long stay car parks (at a security checkpoint access gate) the 737 from behind a business park which overlooks the runway end. Hope that helps, not too sure of EMA places, i tend to look at roads that appear near to a perimeter fence on my sat nav and head for them at airports i am unfamiliar with.
James: i’m sure i’ve posted some LCY shots before, be happy to make a wee post of some better LCY shots if you like.
Back on the motorway to the big smoke and its wee airport in the east end.
LCY:

I swear the runway at LCY is sinking…i have shots taken from the same spot previously, and the wheels are visible 😮 😮
And finally a run out west to heathrow for a couple of hours in fading light (thats my excuse anyway!!)
LHR:

And thats all for noo.
Fab stuff like the AB F100 what route was that doing and I like the twotter landing aswel.
