Sorry? This does sound more than a little biased, and unfounded in reality. Give the Typhoon a chance, it seems that everyone here gets a real kick out of mocking it. Besides, with 620 required by the partner AFs, even with the new orders for Singapore and Saudi I don’t think Rafale sales will overtake Typhoons.

Its just really disappointing to see Typhoon miss its chance to be great, like so many other projects the Uk gets into.

because you really think they will build the tranche 3?

    dreammer!

selling planes and share building isn’t the same, when you sell something you need arguments!

    nothing biased in this,

“”Sure the Typhoon is a different plane, the RSAF were looking for an alrounder, the Typhoon is a pure Fighter in the essence, it was bound to be knocked out, but the way you guys are going on it’s like a school yard. “”

where is it a different plane? don’t understand, the consortium scream everywhere that is a swing multirole fighter!

where is the typhoon that have a lower T/W ratio than the rafale actually and old mecanical radar system that even the RDY2 can match, with less weapons charge and tactical range would be more air superiority than a rafale or a F15T???

    PLS explane me!

eurofighter isn’t what we could call a modern fighter, F22 is, Rafale is, even block 60 is or the 2000-9!

The only thing i have to say about the Eurofighter: the epitome example of the forces of combined bureaucrats of Germany, and others. The design is a nightmare to build from the start. Ventral air intakes for a 12ton plane? Even F-16 wasnt that easy to build.

yes strange, but the most strange is that the typhooooonn defendors ares stil giving the datas and performances of 1997, when the plane was 9.7t empty, no one did reprocessed the datas even with 11.5t “2002 datas”!

would be curious if the plane still supercruise with a so poor T/W ratio!

“The consortium has mounted a concerted effort to win the Singapore contract, flying two of the jets out to Singapore last June accompanied by Royal Air Force cargo and refuelling planes.”

maybe singaporians aren’t as stupid as that the british in march was claiming as a victory of the “world best fighter of 21th century”, just a look to thier website, it’s illarious!

Yeah, very jalous…..”abyssal déficit” then? a very lucrative deal….hehehe, could be for MTU engines……

so you found an article into a comunist french papper about Abysmal deficit caused by 18 trucks? lol and you shoot ? don’t understand, we are talking about 400 MBT at the dearer fare, and in the most modern MBT in the world, it’s not the engine the dearer, but the electronics systems and amunitions, giat is a great amunitions provider, plus UAE was quite wrong about taking a old technology engine, because later Leclerc shown it had best engine reliability than leo2 in kosovo, nato statisics say!

so you are wrong on all the panel! 🙂

Vive La France. I knew the Saudis would tilt away from US-UK after 9-11.

You are wrong my friend, last year the tilt came from thier F15 and tornados upon the desert, the 12F just massacred them while red shark exercises, and now saudies just know about how Rafale is efficient and reliable, things that thier UK advicers tried to hide the most, the US and UK will always swap oil for obsolesent weapons to them, 9/11 blah blah, compared to the lies that bush admin released to his own peoples and lackeys for 4 years now, saudies ares really safe beleive me! :p

now for 4 mounth dassault are in talks with them, the prince just signed a MOU, of course that they will hide till US trip, but it’s a fact!

    red shark first mission…………..

“Somewhere in the Red Sea, May 2004.A
brutally hot north by northwest wind sweeps
the flight deck of the Charles de Gaulle. Under
the burning sun, technicians from Squadron
12F are scurrying around four Rafale fighters
parked on the aft deck. The upcoming mission
will be decisive, and the sleek fighters have to
    be ready.
    BRAVO – 90’: 12F READY ROOM
Ninety minutes prior to catapult launch, or
Bravo, the Rafale pilots from Squadron 12F
get a last briefing on their upcoming sortie.
    Squadron leader Lieutenant Bertrand Lepoutre
addresses his men: “Our mission today
is defending the carrier in a 4 vs. 8 scenario.
The enemy is four Saudi Tornado IDS in antiship
    configuration, escorted by four F-15S
fighters flying sweep [clearing the route before
an attack]. The Hawkeye airborne early
    warning/command & control aircraft, Damo
03, will send us the heading and altitude vectors
for the Tornados and F-15s as soon as they
    are detected.”
The pilots study all aspects of their mission
one by one: general and zone tactical
    situation, flight data (radio frequencies,
    indicators, IFF/Identification Friend or Foe
code and weather), threats, interception and
combat tactics, and, in NATO speak, the
“shot philosophy”. In 45 minutes, they’ve
covered all the bases and the pilots, honed to
    a razor’s edge, leave the air-conditioned
    room. Let the hunt begin!”””

hasn’t be build? lol , and on the test bench, what kind of device is it?

uhmm, ok! 4% lesser comsomption from the 2E3 who was 3% lesser than the 2E2 who was 2% lesser than the 2E1 who never was fitted!

so 4+3+2=9 yes i was wrong i said 10%, and view that the high pressure compressor was refitted, i bet than the 2E4 have more trush than the standard version

“I hope the new SAGEM-SNECMA will allow some funding for that program.
I think the french navy would be glad to gain some safety margin.”

thx for the french navy, she will do her job as always do the best europeans carried fighters fleet! french navy aeronaval could give lessons to all europeans lap dogs each year!

And why norway always buy yanks planes, did they like to be lackey of the DoD?

did norway ares in europe? so it’s time to buy european, more lap dogs countries will buy europeans, more europeans fighters will be stronger!

don’t wait americans to be your friend, only money is their mind! they even will pressure you, or use datas to follow thier interests!

Yes the Mirage is growing from the experiences on the rafale, Dassault develop both aircraft in paralelle, but Rafale already meet Mirages 2000-5 and win!

simply because rafale is 10 times lower rcs and have a AESA on board, and the EW french suite ares hard to break, so that leave no way to engage!

The F18 s the best multirole fighter in the world, he’s so better than others than dassault choosen to design rafale with F18 in minds!

F16 is overated, and F35 will be more a limited emport F16 than a multirole F18, super hornet is curious, me my favorite was the Tomcat, but sniff he’s removing service!

    old europe bashing

Americans conservative into politics tour, europe is shiit and us we ares better!

give half the cost money to european to make a stealth fighter, they will do better and even with money surplus!

americains gone on the moon with germans scientists, and money!

in 2010 F22 will be onbsolescent, and all armies will use UCAV for first times strikes! after, even a tornado can do the jobs, when you have sky control!!

Anyway, the -3 has two flavors:
    – Same thrust than the M88-2 but better reliability (lower consumption ?)
    – More thrust, same reliability, a bit more expensive to buy IIRC.
    nope

M88-3 can’t have the same trush!

the dash 3 is on the test bench since 1996 under project name “M88AMV”!

he was tested, but the progect was frozen and not removed after the korean cowardise bid!

the AB trush is 91.654 kN

    frozen till export start!

actually all rafales ares retrofited with the M88-2E4 , who have reduced consomption and 10% more trush than the earlier 75kN!

“The F-35 JSF is going to bring a revolution in fighter design”

surely not, the stealth is a edge dream that next radar generations will remove easy, and with the poor speed, agility, payload and range of JSF, the foreign clients will not be so warm to buy it!

the main MOU was to buy around $30m the plane, now his price is around 60 millions!

lots of countries ares wonder how badly devlopment of this plane was done, and cost!

    i even don’t talk about the B version, who’s a mess!
