Awesome, let me echo Thames’s comments. Thanks for sharing. It’s so great to see this bird leave terra-firma again!
Have to add my comments also. Great shots, especially the night ones.
Great to see you using a C765 to near its max potential. Great shots for a non DSLR. Gives me more hope! 🙂
Great shots, thanks for sharing! Always love seeing the classic Saudia livery!

Hey,
I would place a post on the Manchester Spotters Yahoo group. Just list as much info as you know and I’m sure someone will come up with the goods.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/manchesterspotters2/
I’ve seen requests for info dating back to the mid 70s and people have leafed through their logbooks and come up with the required info!
Hope this helps.
Braking ‘chutes weren’t restricted to airliners from the Soviet Union.
The Sud Aviation Caravelle had a tail ‘chute and I remember seeing it deployed at MAN on more than one occasion in the days of my youth.
Here’s an Air France Caravelle using the chute at MAN in 1969:

She’s rumoured to be doing LGW hops during the week and AMS runs at the weekends for now.
Beauty! I’m on LS949 17:15 MAN-AMS on Saturday 8th April. Here’s hoping! 🙂
I was at DUS in October and I’d say it’s definitely worth a visit. Two good viewing areas – one on the railway station and then one at the terminal. Both give a good (different) views. Entry is €2 and that ticket gets you into both.
Also a good aviation shop up by the one in the terminal.
There is also a ZRH meet being organised for 29th July, and there’s a sightseeing tour over the alps also.
I’m signed up! 🙂
Yes, I’ve seen it! Very good.
He’s cherishing his new lens if I remember correctly 🙂
Have a look on http://www.seatguru.com
I have one Gill Airways inflight magazine – ‘Top Flight’ (Summer 1995).
Some interesting stuff in it – mentions their routes, and some thoughts about routes they may operate. There’s one picture in the mag of one of their planes – ATR72 G-BWDB.
There’s a nice advert on the back cover also for ATR.
I can scan it all if you want (34pages, A4). We’ve got a new whizzy photocopier at work which scans pages in a second and emails them to you.
GRE PSR-282.
Works great for me.
Today I’ve booked BHX-AMS with bmibaby. Flying out on Feb 19th and returning on 23rd.
Total cost of the return ticket was £40.73. (It was £3.99 each way plus taxes) And I paid with an Electron card so no extra charges. The cheapest I’ve ever paid to fly to the Dam!
For the same dates, Easy from LPL wanted £87. Jet2 from MAN wanted £67 and KLM from MAN wanted £80.
My previous cheapest ticket was last Feb with Jet2 from MAN (£46). The most expensive was the first time I went (no locos then). KLM from MAN which was £123!
Never flown with baby before so looking forward to it!
