Trust me, the photo doesn’t do it justice.

Fascinating photo – I can’t really add any more info as I’m also a relative newcomer to the airfield but thanks for sharing.
If I remember correctly XM575 didn’t participate in Operation Black Buck but was prepared for use. You probably already know it’s part of the East Midlands Aeropark collection. Before it the aeropark was relocated the APU was run regularly (most weekends) and many systems were live. I understand that since the relocation this isn’t possible to due to the new site’s proximity to the houses.
Cheers,

I would have thought the Mid Atlantic Aviation Museum’s B25J ‘Briefing Time’ would be a contender for one of the most original airworthy survivors.

Would love to help but I think you’ll need to find your 3822 as the chippies end at WP872 and then start again at WP893
Looks like I’ll have to dig it out, thanks anyway !

I would have to dig out my 3822 to be 100% sure about the reg but can anyone confirm if it’s still around ? I love to find a photo.
First attempt, 203 seconds and 1 kill 😉
Going back to the original topic, the closest to FS I’ve found on the PS2 lately is a daft helicopter game call ‘Air Ranger Rescue’, worth looking out for if only because you can find copies in the bargain bins for around a fiver.
Bruce
How many years since the PS2 came out? Five?
It’s a good point Daz, and although the recent PS2 games still look good they DO show the age of the hardware. I’ve recently played the Ghost Recon series on the PS2, great fun but no comparison to more recent first person shooters on the PC. A good PC costs more but you get a lot more for your money.

There sure are, also IFRC Rick Piper’s Cipmunk mentioned above is available for FS2002
Probably the best freeware Mustangs you can get for FS2002 are by Shigeru Tanaka, detals here : http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/shigeru/warbirds.htm or the Reno Racing Mustangs by Steve Small, Roger Dial et al.

Or Rick Piper’s excellent freeware Chipmunk !
Sounds like your system is at the bottom end performance wise to run FS9 I’m afraid but there are a number of things you can do :
First make sure you have your system optimised for FS. This means not running other programs in the background. Defragment your hard drive regularly and make sure you’re virus and spyware free. These few tips apply to anything, not just FS so I apologise if I’m teaching you to suck eggs ! :p
Next make sure you have the latest video drivers for your new card (http://www.nvidia.com) Go into the graphics settings (Right click on the desktop – Properties, then click the Settings tab on the far right) Experiment with the Antialiasing settings to start with, I have a feeling this might be related to your problem.
The other thing you can do of course is experiment with the Display settings in FS. Again at risk of teaching you to suck eggs only change one thing at a time and see what effect if any it has.
I hope this helps, if not try a dedicated FS forum such as those at simflight.com, someone there is sure to help !
