I saw them get airborne yesterday – have to say I’m used the Twin Pin buzzing around so it’s not such a novelty but the Anson was a welcome treat.

Personally I’m happy with FS2004 and in no rush to upgrade, there is pleanty of life in it yet.

Most of the things mentioned here can easily be done with add on software, often freeware as well. However it takes a little time to set up things such as AI traffic and AFCADs (for airport layout) Generally speaking it’s possible to find an add on aircraft for most types and in most liveries. The graphics in my opinion is awesome and easily ‘tweaked’. As for ATC, if you want realism, fly online with VATSIM !

What I DO wish for in the next version would be some kind of ‘common shape library’, maybe based on standard aircraft designations. When flying online/multiplayer players could then see the correct type of aircraft flown by others, regardless of specific add ons installed.

    Just my humble opinion…

I don’t know about BF1942 but some sims do support multiple controllers, FS2002/2004 and X-plane v7.x/v8.x certainly do. It’s just a matter of assigning the axis you want to the controls you want and disabling the others.

FS host supports both 2002 and 2004. The best bet is to download FShost spy: http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshostspy/

I don’t really understand what you mean by that ?

I don’t see how fly by wire or manual control would affect a simulated aircraft ?

Sure is nice. We get 3 of the fleet thru’ CVT at night now, and as busy as it gets now on a night shift they look great lined up on the ramp.

I’ll try and get some photos if anyone’s interested.

    Yup,

It’s a regular route ABZ-EDI-CVT and then the reverse in the wee hours.

For the spotters it’s G-FIJV at the moment.

Not often you get a Shack and a 6 running at the same time in the same place these days either 😮

    Tom.

Typical, I would be on nights 🙁

I also have it on good authority that left AND returned with all four engines running. Excellent.
