IIRC they link to the AVSIM library. Yes it is freeware, don’t expect a dazzling new 3d model though as it is an upgrade to the default models flight dynamics. Well worth downloading, but don’t forget to RTFM !

…if anyone can tell me how I can change the Cessna Skyhawk from being the opening default so I can delete it, Id appreciate it.

Simply changing aircraft and saving the flight should do it (check the box ‘make this the default flight’) although a better idea would be to install the Real Air C172 (an improved version/mod for the default aircraft)

There’s been no announcement, we usually know well in advance. I also know one or two people who beta’d the last version.

Better still get FS Host Spy (http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost/) which will let you locate servers running FS host (a free FS server utility)

At the time of writing there are 145 servers online.

    Hi Moggy.

I used to fly online regularly with 249Sqn, Duxford (later Tangmere) Wing. I reinstalled it recently, all I can say is oh boy how times have moved on !
Probably only worth bothering with for sentimental reasons.

I dabble with IL2 for combat sims but most of my time is spent on FS2004, I miss the combat side but prefer the realism of the Real Air Spit and the WOP P51.

Personally I’d be VERY suprised if there was a new FS version out so soon….

Has anyone seen anything ‘official’ on a release ?

    Your flight sim?

    FS2004 (9.1) and X-Plane 8.X

Airport you from to/from most often?

The fictional Emma Field (FS2004) or East Mids, Coventry and the UK in general.

Fly online or offline? 50/50 both I guess

If you fly for a virtual airline what one do you fly for?

I’m an active member of the Emma Field Flying Club, I don’t fly for a VA

How many hours have you flown?

    Hundreds !

What is your favourite aircraft to fly?

At the moment, probably the Real Air Spit

What expansion packs do you have for flight sim?

Lots ! UK2000 airport, VFR Photo scenery for the UK and Georender/Mysty Fjords for the US/Canada

As for aircraft, mainly GA and warbirds types.

    Longest flight ever done?

Two to three hours without an autopilot is quite enough in one hop !

    Last flight you done?

Emma Field to Diamond Point. I reckon I could do it with my eyes closed now !

If you like classic aircraft try Bill Lyon’s Custom Classic range, most have float variants. The FS2002 aircraft are now freeware and most work fine in FS2004. His Tiger Moth & Piper cub are classics and include float versions as do many others. You should be able to find his freeware files in the usual places: AVsim.com, flightsim.com et al. The payware files for FS2004 are excellent value at about $12.50

    Hope this helps !
