Yes, 7 AEF at Newton. I remember seeing this on their Chippies when I was a space cadet in the late 80s.

More gaudy MiGs.

I guess it won’t be at legends then? (sorry, somebody had to say it!)
Good news the pilot is ok, hopefully minimal damage to the aeroplane too.
Superb set of photos.

Goony Bird

Thanks for the heads up, the game is lots of fun (although the intro video is as cringeworthy as a particularly bad Gillette advert!)
Wow, great news.
Wish I had more time to ‘play’!

Glad the crew are ok and hope the aircraft will fly again.
I also hope that when it does they take the opportunity to paint her in colours a little less glossy!
Really must give this a proper go online.
John C are you ‘flying’ in UK time?

The most obvious thing to check first is that your joystick is calibrated correctly in Windows?
Those episodes of Ice Pilots were filmed last summer.
I’ve used X-Plane for quite a while and I’m a big fan, the whole approach is quite different from the Microsoft sim though, it’s not quite as ‘pretty’ and it feels quite different to fly.
Like MSFS there is a lot of user created content (aircraft, scenery etc) which is of variable quality, some is very good though. I’m not aware of any real air combat add on though although weapons are simulated in avery basic fashion.
There’s a free demo online, give it a go and make your own mind up?
I’ve got it, love it but don’t have much time to play. It runs best on my step son’s gaming rig which I don’t get a lot of accesss to.
I haven’t braved MP much, really should find time to have a proper go.
I flirted with this game again recently, it’s still great fun (I played in the beta which must be close to ten years ago!) but the learning curve is steep and I just don’t have the time to play to be able to justify a monthly subscription.
