Fascinating, thanks for sharing these.

My guess would be the cable too, try the cable both ways around and check for bent pins. A replacement should be easy enough to try, I think it’s a standard PS2 lead.
Good luck,
Bruce
You’re welcome and yeah, track IR is a fantastic bit of kit MM (it works in Aces High too)
IL2 seems to be the retail game of choice, you can pick up the latest version IL2:1946 pretty cheaply and I think it includes all the earlier versions. You’ll need to download the hyperlobby software to play it online and it will also require patching to the latest version.
I’ve recently started playing Aces High (http://www.hitechcreations.com) again after a break of several years. It’s an online sim with limited offline game play, the game is a free download with two weeks free access to the online play, after which there is a subscription fee. The learning curve is very steep but I’m enjoying playing again.
Hope This Helps!

@RAFMUSEUM just ‘tweeted’ a link to some video footage of a dive survey on this wreck, interesting stuff!
MAM’s Voodoo
A couple of photos of MAM’s F101 from my Flickr account, clearly an ex BDR airframe!

It does inded.
I enjoyed it, a good read but don’t expect anything to come close to ‘Piece Of Cake’
I got a copy from the local library, £15 for any paperback, let alone one with such bloody awful cover art and badly presented blurb on the back cover is a lot of money indeed.
Glad to help Reggie,
Let me know how you get on.

Sorry Moggy, I have to disagree. X Plane was designed on the mac platform and a mac of the correct spec is a very capable machine.
As far as hardware is concerned I assume the original poster is refering to flight controls. Most USB hardware (Joysticks, Yokes, Throttle quadrants etc) will be compatible, the only equipment I have lost the use of since moving to OSX is my Track IR head tracker. I currently use a Saitek X52 stick and throttle, it has enough axis controls to allocate sliders or dials to prop RPM and Mixture for your complex props but a more realistic option may be a seperate quadrant from CH products or Saitek. I have also used CH Products yoke and pedals with X plane on both the Mac and Windows versions. You may also prefer the feel of a yoke, it’s a little more like the real Beaver.
I’ve found X-plane.org is the best place to get support and advice.
Good luck!

Hi,
The current Macbook and Macbook Pro will run both sims pretty well. I’m a recent Mac convert and a big fan of X-Plane. To run FS-X on a Mac you would need to use the bootcamp software (which comes as part of OSX) to install Windows on a seperate partition. If you don’t want to install another operating system then X-Plane is your only option to sim on a Mac.
Both sims have pros and cons, FS-X is graphically superior, X-Plane has (in my opinion) a nicer feel to the flight model and smoother guages but doesn’t look as pretty. The only thing I miss on my mac is native support for my Track IR head tracker.
Have fun!

At risk of taking this slightly off topic (should probably be the flight sim forum?) If you have a recent (intel CPU) Mac running OSX you can install Windows on a second partition using ‘bootcamp’ which will allow you to run the IL2 series of sims in their native environment. I suspect this would be a better solution than running games using Parallels or similar.
HTH!

P.S. Great work on the 3d model!
Free demo
reminds me of the buccaneers from thunder city in the film Lord Of War
…sorry there were AEROPLANES in that video? :diablo:
Thats a shame, I’m sure MS FS will continue eventually but lets face it, we don’t really need a new version as most folk still find FS-X is resource hungry.
In the meantime I’ll stick with X-Plane.
