John,
Yes, it’s official. Sorry I should have been more specific. I took a call about 0830L from a Sgt at RAF Waddington who was trying to reach the Classic Flight who were about to depart.

If you’re looking for freeware add ons you could do a lot worse than search the libraries at AVSIM.com and FLIGHTSIM.com

Yaw damper ?
It’s Your Plane
Before you spend any money on a ‘virtual co pilot’ why not try ‘It’s Your Plane’ ?there’s a free 15 day trial available here
Whilst I’ve not tried it myself (airliners are out of my area of interest) I know the team behind it and would recommend trying it.
Cheers,
Bruce
Well, having run FS-X with SP1 for a few days I have to say I’m impressed with the improvements.
I can now run the game @1440×900 with mostly medium settings and get good performance. I do still have most of the traffic options turned off and still run into stutters in areas with hight building density but it’s a massive improvement. I suspect upgrading to 2Gb of RAM will make life smoother still but time will tell.
Its a shame the sim wasn’t this good on release as the bugs have put a lot of folk off but I’m a happy bunny now !

I wrote to Lago and have received no reply so I can’t even get a registration key. Maybe they’ve gone out of business.
I don’t thinks so but that does seem to be standard for LAGOs standard of customer service these days. I used to buy a lot of their products when they published the Georender series. Things really seem to have gone downhill of late.

Colin,
Did you try deleting your FS9.cfg file as I suggested last time you had this problem ?
Make a back up first to a different location and then delete the original, FS will rebuild a new file and restor all you settings to default.

John,
I think you’ll find FS Enchancer is a simple scenery design add on, the idea being that you can enhance the FS scenery by placing new objects in the FS environment without having to learn complex scenery design software.
The ‘SLEW’ command is simple, just press Y and use the flight controls (your joystick) to move your aircraft to the desired place. The ‘Q’ and ‘A’ keys adjust your altitude.
The Argosy looks much improved since my last visit 18 months or so ago. Well done all involved.
I must get ’round to popping over the museum again soon.

It could well be a virtual memory issue.
Other things that come to mind include overheating (if the computer had been running that long it’s worth checking ?) Also are you sure you dont have other programs running in the background ? Anti Virus software kicking in for a scheduled update or scan can cause sudden performance issues too.
Hope this helps,

Not much else to say realy
Other than it’s followed by (the original) Flight Of The Phoenix.

Bill Lyon’s Tiger Moth was originally a payware model for FS2002 but was released as freeware for FS2004. The filename on avsim.com is cctiger4.zip
Although it’s listed as an FS2004 model I’m pretty sure it will work ok on FS2002 so give it a try.
Incidentally all of Bills work is superb, there are many of his excellent aircraft available to download.

If you’re considering upgrading I would suggest holding on a little longer. The first Service pack (or patch) for FS-X is in beta which suggests it will be release ‘soon’ and there will be further changes when the new version of Direct X (10) is released.
The simple answer to your question is that FS-X really needs the fastest CPU you can afford and at least 2Gb of RAM. Graphics card wise it would be wise to upgrade to a Direct X 10 compatible card. At the moment that would mean a NVidia 8800 based card which start around the £200 mark.
Rgds,
Bruce
There are several ways to build a multi monitor set up but I’m assuming you want to display standard FS2004 or FSX screens on all three screens rather than 3rd party nav software or instruments.
Wideview (http://www.wideview.it) is software for linking multiple FS PCs over a network to enable a system with multi monitors. Because you are using more than one PC you can have more monitors and better performance than the limitations of one PC, though unless you happen to have two PCs capable of running flight sim it’s an expensive solution !
To connect three monitors to one PC the best solution is Matrox’s Triple Head 2 Go (http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/products/th2go/) which is a hardware solution allowing three monitors on one PC.
Hope this helps !
Cheers,
Bruce
Martin,
I cant help you with your attachment problems as I’ve never uploaded images to these forums but I’d be interested to know your opinion and see your shots of the Alpha T6
