    Cheer’s Guy’s.

I have seen these sites, but know that they can be wrong “eg since when was there a Snipe monoplane ?”.
I hope that some one may have further info to what is on these websites, assuming that the Snipes supposedly built by Portass were of the Sopwith variety, what were their serial numbers ?, as I can find no reference to them.

Other people have said that Portass also built fuselages for Avro & Dehavilland types, if true, which types & for which companies ?.

    Albermarle parts/Aspatria

From memory some of the Albermarle parts were recovered from the quarry at Aspatria by the RAF museum, these parts consisted of the remains of 2 steel tube forward fuselage sections, some wing & other parts, they were given to the now defunct Pennine aircraft museum.
I believe they are now with David Stansfield ?, who is/was trying to build up a cockpit section.
Not everything was recovered from the quarry due to the amount of large boulders & rocks that were on top of everything, Hurricane & Tigermoth etc frame parts were also found there, but not recovered.

I think I remember Ray saying something about the DH 10 wings, but the wings he told me about had not been recovered in the mid/late 80’s.

The possible Cauldron parts sound interesting, I hope they still exist & are rescued soon.

    Hi Guy’s

The wings in the barn/shed were deffinately supposed to be wooden construction, not metal.
What happened to the “Siskin ?” wings, were they recovered ?.
