I’m off there in four weeks, trying to convince ‘er indoors that it will be money well spent. 😀

I did the T6 flight over in Carlsbad, California a couple of years ago…..what can I say…………..stunning:D

Did all the usual aerobatic stuff, even attacked a passing Cessna with a combat break….gun button linked to sound effects in my headset.

My missus got this picture during take off, but missed the victory roll over the airfield on my return coz she was nattering….

I had quite a lot of hands on too.

Worth every single penny twice over…and I smiled for a week afterwards too..

    Jessops price £1150, Kerso £870 inc delivery………

I think the guy you spoke to is incorrect, but thats just what other forums say.

Have a read over on POTN, he is a member there, and will even phone you for a chat.

Got my 100-400 from him nearly 3 years ago, and I still remember my bottom muscles going into spasm when sending a stranger over £800…..

    Hi Tartan

I was looking at a Canon 100-400mm on ebay which was at ‘buy it now’ for just under £800 which is about £200 cheaper than I can find anywhere else in UK. However, I suspect that this particular sellers Canon stock is imported from USA. Fine, until something goes wrong and you need to ship it back to Canon. Canon UK won’t touch it…you’ll need to send it to Canon USA which I assume will be a time consuming and costly affair. You might want to check that the items you’re bidding on is actually UK kit, or imported.

    Bob

Camera bodies are region specific for guarentee, lenses have a worldwide warrenty.

Kerso on fleabay recommended….trustworthy guy. Used him twice myself.
He supplies huge amounts of equipment to POTN forum…

I used a 300D and 100-400mm IS L series for two years and was more than happy with the upgrade from a 75-300 non IS.

You gotta put quality in to get quality out…so you’ll find a massive improvement in quality, plus that extra reach.

IS helps a great deal for fast panning or low light situations, but it can’t do miracles. You will get more keepers, but smooth panning is still required.

My recent upgrade was to get a 400D for a bit more resolution, but I’m keeping my 100-400L for the foreseeable future.

Lovely shots, very crisp. Can I ask what lens you were using?

I took a flight in this, last September, during a family vacation to California. It was a 1 hour flight, and I got to take the controls. I now have a grand total of 1/2 hour of stick time. I still get pumped when I think about it.

    Ditto for me…………..:D

I took the one hour flight in May 2005…smiled for a week

No, I must set Sky+ to series record so we can catch it. There were 2 normal cameras on the ground, and 2 on the aircraft, one directly in front and one on the wing looking sideways, so there should be some good footage, hopefully!:)

Glad you guys have enjoyed the pictures, I will pick up the 2 x 35mm films tonight and if there are any more good ones, I will scan and post….
There will probably be more comments from my good wife about the ratio of wings to buttocks….:o

There was another camera just in front of the tail fin too, taped to the top fuse looking towards the young ladys rear………….

I asked a camera guy, he suggested on air around 30/31st May

    Excellent stuff Gareth… 😀

Hope to see those on Anet soon.
I’ve had to pass on Dux AND Fairford this year to to moving house, but I’ll hopefully get to Grandsden, Sywell and the rest of the OW shows this year.

Now where did I put my camera gear……………… 😮
