Olympus 320 for the TSR.2 then?

    Correct… 😀

On the 3rd December 1962, the aircraft was completly destroyed by a massive fire following a engine explosion on the ground.

A Vulcan was used to test the Olympus for Concorde, wasn’t it? Although I’m guessing it probably didn’t remain under the Vulcan for quite long enough to appear at that show 😀 Maybe the RB199 for the Tornado?

    Warm……. 😀

For me the SR/71 but my father reckons 9 Lightnings at Farnboro in the 60’s was unbeatable as the compression stopped him from breathing.

My Dad was there too….he even managed to get a press pass.. 😎

He remembers he couldn’t get a picture of the Lightnings taking off as he had to cover his ears with both hands. However, he did manage this one of Vulcan XA894 just before it blew him over…….

Note the attached ‘extra’ engines….anyone guess what they were..

Those Lightnings can be seen in the second Mossy pic lined up in the background.

Anyone know how to get a schedule of her appearances? If she’s in Calif, maybe she’ll work her way east here to Colorado and we can see her if she stops….

A good friend’s wife has asked my advice.

She wants to give him a really good birthday present “Does anyone offer flights in a Spitfire…..?”

If (as I assume) non of the two seat Spitfires are available for pleasure flights can anyone offer alternative ideas? (excepting the Tiger Moth).

    Roger Smith.

Not sure there’s much in this country (if anything) in a Warbird.

    I’m hoping to get a flight here .. http://www.barnstorming.com/aeropress/cgi_bin/xfer.cgi?page=prod_warbird.php#toptop

….as will be over in Calfornia on hols next month.

Bit far to go though eh?

How about a helecopter trial lesson…I did one last year at Cranfield, and it was great….adrenelin was pumpin after that

    First Post….Hiya to all

    First Post…..Hiya to all..

Just a small piece of advice before travelling to this venue, check first if Southampton footy club are playing at home, as the museum is virtually next door to St Mary’s stadium.

You will be hard pushed to find parking nearby on match days.
