Here are some pics from this site http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/clmf/weapdig.html
1) Advanced Common Intercept Missile Demonstration (ACIMD) fit- test on F-14.
2)30.5-Inch Bombardment Aircraft Rocket (BOAR), one of the earliest rockets designed to carry a nuclear warhead launched from a Banshee(?).
3)Supersonic Tactical Missile (STM) on A-7 Corsair.
Here is a Harrier GR7 loaded with a 2000lb Paveway III and a RBL755 cluster bomb.
Another pic from tbzz, Tornado GR4 this time 🙂
I found these Falkland war pics here http://www.raf.mod.uk/falklands/index.html
A GR3 with 2x LGB’s on Hermes and Vulcan pics of 21x 1000lb bombs and Shrike missiles.
tbzz posted this pic of a Harrier GR7 dropping retarded 1000lb bombs 🙂
One of the best a/c videos I have seen! – Superbly done.
The Alpha Jet and Mirage 2000.
😮 that is a great video! thanks for sharing 🙂
ACH-47A armed/armored Chinook pics from http://tri.army.mil/LC/CS/csa/ach47a.htm
Is that a Short Range Attack Missile (SRAM) on the centreline pylon in the last F-15E pic?
turboshaft, thanks for the Lynx pic and I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that there is another 2x Stingray on the other side 😀
Here is a Tornado with 2x 2000lb Paveway III, a Rafale M with 6x 500lb LGB’s and a group of Phantom’s on the old Ark Royal each loaded with 6x 540lb bombs (I think?) from this site http://lionels.orpheusweb.co.uk/index.html
totoro, the STOVL F-35B’s weapon bays won’t be as deep as the A and C variants so it won’t be able to carry the 2000lb JDAM, only the 1000lb JDAM.
😮 It looks like I was wrong about the the weapon bays, according to http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/planes/q0163.shtml the F-35B bays will be shorter.
The above link also has pics and info of the F-35’s weapon carriage capacity. 6x AMRAAM looks possible but they haven’t made it easy for themselves and it will need some interesting launch rails 😀
I still think they should have gone for the F-32 :diablo:
The biggest failing of the Sea Harrier force in the Falkland’s was that there wasn’t enough SHAR’s to provide air cover where it was needed, when it was needed.
If the task force could have sailed with HMS Illustrious and extra SHAR’s or just a few Sea King AEW helicopters the results would have been different.
Did anyone watch the excellent 1 hr MEGASTRUCTURES program on the USS RONALD REAGAN and the Antonov Condor on NAT GEOG ?
Yes 🙂 there is also one on the new USS Virginia SSN and a older program on a Arleigh Burke class destroyer.
On Discovery I recently saw a program called X-Carriers about the new aircraft carrier CVN 21.
Something to look out for on the History channel is SECRET SUPERPOWER AIRCRAFT which looks at projects like the V/STOL P1154, XB-70 Valkyrie and M-4 Bison.
All are worth looking out for 😉
totoro, the STOVL F-35B’s weapon bays won’t be as deep as the A and C variants so it won’t be able to carry the 2000lb JDAM, only the 1000lb JDAM.
It looks like the UK’s 1000lb enhanced Paveway II won’t fit either according to http://www.flightglobal.com/Articles/2006/02/24/205102/JSF+model+highlights+programme+problems.html
That could mean the UK will need to buy 1000lb JDAM’s as well as 500lb Paveway IV’s 😡
Nice site, keep up the good work 🙂
😮 Cool site vajt! I love this helicopter carrier concept 🙂
Anyone got pics of the Lynx with 4x Sea Skua missiles or the Merlin with 4x Stingray torpedoes?
