The DD(X) is very impressive but I think it’s a shame that it doesn’t have more minor warfare capabilities such as a larger hanger for more helicopters and maybe a vehicle/boat deck for USMC Expeditionary Fighting Vehicles like that found on the Danish Absalon class.

I sure that the ships helicopters and small craft will see more action than it’s state of the art weapons/sensor fit 🙁

Interesting ideas, a 21st century U-Boat that spends most of it’s time on the surface but can submerge when necessary could prove useful in the future.

It might look something like this http://www.swath.com/history.htm

If I ran Britain, I’d make the teaching of basic economics compulsary in school, perhaps along with basic nutrition and other life skills such as simple plumbing, how to fit a fuse, and so on.

Good idea, I sometimes think they don’t teach you certain subjects at school because the knowledge might make someones job more difficult, bankers and lawyers for example 🙂

Make it illegal for illegal immigrants to get schooling, health benefits, driver’s licenses, and anything else a taxpaying citizen pays for.
    Abolish the PC movement.
Pass an Equal Rights ammendment to the Constitution.
Get rid of Affirmative Action and any racial quota systems. If you aren’t the most qualified, you won’t get the job or school spot.
Classify gangs as organized crime and make them a federal problem.

I think the PC movement is responsible for most of the problems we get in the UK too, mainly because they prefer to talk about problems rather than solving them. I guess solving a problem would put them out of their jobs 🙁

Police numbers would be massively increased ( & many more reservists) & they would be removed from such wastes of time & money as form filling & guard duty, to be sent on the streets for uniformed & non-uniformed policing.
The benefits fraud department would become a separate law enforcemet agency with powers of arrest & prosecution.Same as the police.
Rioting & serious public order problems would not be tolerated. If the Police struggle to cope, mounted infantry & military police would be sent in instantly. If needed, other troops as well.
Prison sentences would be made honest.None of that sh*t about cutting sentences in half or less. Causing death by driving would be taken seriously, with the same sentences as manslaughter & murder

I agree, anyone who thinks rioting is acceptable behaviour deserves to find out what a brick in the face and being set on fire by a petrol bomb feels like.

It’s hard to think that a country that can have such stupid over-reactionary rules to protect children also releases convicted paedophiles on to the streets 🙁

    LAW AND ORDER

In my opinion crime mainly exists because the legal system would put itself out of a job if they did too much to stop crime. Repeat offender = return customer 🙁

I’d put a stop to this, no one should make money out of crime, all defenders and prosecutors should be government employees on fixed annual salaries, they should not be claiming/charging large sums of legal aid for a particular case.

Punishments should be fixed and not subject to the whims of a Judge or a parole/probation committee. Prisons should be cheap temporary camps, not multi-million pound architect designed, landscaped gardened, all mod cons accommodation. Prisoners should work 16 hours a day, 7 days a week on a 3 shift system so that one bed is shared by 3 prisoners further reducing the cost of the camp. No leisure time or rehabilitation programs would be allowed in prison, rehabilitation should begin after the sentence has been served only.

The Police should be increased in numbers and be equipped with camera phone type devices to record all incidents. I think that 25% of the Police should patrol in plain clothes at all times to increase the chances of catching criminals in the act, this would also act as a very good crime deterent on it’s own.

I don’t have a job at the moment and hate that!

Me too, I hated my job and it was making me miserable so I quit. Now that I’ve had a few months off I’m missing the routine and could probably go back to the same job and be perfectly happy doing it.

Put all those who invent all this PC crap up against a wall and let a firing squad loose on them.

🙂 PC should stand for Polite and Considerate only. I’m sick of all these opinionated bureaucrats who think they can dictate what you can say and do.

    DEMOCRACY

Democracy doesn’t appear to be working at the moment, you vote for a political party who’s policies are hardly any different to the oppositions and you still get no guarantee that they will achieve any of them. Unelected officials in the courts and EU also hinder or stop many policies too.

In my opinion the big issues need to be decided by referendums, not left to the opinions of a minority who have sought out positions of power to force those opinions on the majority.

Politicians must be expected to achieve what they claimed they would do when elected. If they don’t they must state the reason why they didn’t and, depending on the circumstances, not be allowed to stand for re-election.

    TRANSPORT (Roads)

scrap road tax for private car users increase fuel prices….private hauliers get discount cards for diesel fuel.

Nice idea, this way you would only get taxed when using your car rather than for owning one 🙂

I’d also get traffic cameras that catch people for bad driving rather than just speeding. I’d have fines for driving too slow, not indicating and staying in the middle lanes on motorways when not overtaking.

I’d also increase the speed limits on motorways to 70mph for the inside lane, 80mph for the middle and 90mph for the outside lanes.

I’d also try to change all the junctions, sliproads, roadabouts, etc that cause bottlenecks to free up the flow of traffic.
