Great pics.
i popped this question to Kurt plummer over at ACIG and this was his response..
If you combined all my 600+ posts together I don’t think they would equal the length of that response. 🙂
Is he basically saying that conventional airpower will become obsolete over the next couple of decades?
Does anyone know what became of the Westland proposal to do a Lynx based compound helicopter demonstrator?
It looks even more like the Sikorsky S-69 Advancing Blade Concept (ABC). http://avia.russian.ee/vertigo/sik_s-69-r.html
Came across these pics of NH90 trials on a Norwegian ship http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=49534
The FB-22 if it ever comes online will be able to carry 30 and the B-2 between 192 and 216. 😮
Are they developing a new SDB bomb rack for the B-2?
In this pic a 4 SDB adapter fits on a rotary launcher station giving a maximum SDB loadout of 64 (4x SDB, 8x stations, 2x launchers).
Caught these couple at Southend yesterday. Apologies for quality, the weather was absolutely crap (lots of shots were taken in rain), and the sun was on the wrong side for most the day. But here’s what I did salvage – enjoy!
No apology needed, excellent pics 🙂
But the T-45 has been selected and is under construction thus it just slipped within the requirement os the discussion, the Meko and the Trimaran desighns look good but as yet are only concepts.
Sorry, I didn’t read it properly.
I don’t like the layout of the T45, it has all its weapons located at the front of the ship and the CIWS can only cover one side of the ship each.
I much prefer the double ended design of this MEKO® X concept, and would have 155mm guns and VLS missiles only.

Why is the hanger roof Seawolf director not on that Type 23?
I was mistaken, it is in fact behind the hanger roof mast.
Ok guys, given that the new PA2 is going to be bigger than CdG, by a long shot, would the Mn decide to retire this carrier for sale to a suitable country (bearing in mind that she is nuclear powered- or would they rip out the reactors and use them in something else and install standard engines for sale), and then use the money from the sale of CdG for the purchace of a second carrier of the PA2 class?
I think the only cost effective future for the CdG is to keep it in French service and get full use out of it.
yes but the hellfire doesnt have the same manueverability and G limit requirments that top notch a2a missile needs to have..the 15cm in space of the c7 is basically used for more fuel to increase range..
I wasn’t comparing a Hellfire to a AAM.
The extra space could just as easily be used for new electronics.
The guidance system will be the only new technology, the airframe/propulsion will be based on proven technology.
Some nice a2a scenes in that trailer, did they really get that close to the A340 or was it CGI.
The answer appears to be here:

I can’t find an answer in that link.
wouldnt the added capability add up more weight thereby compromising on capability.
Hopefully not, the JCM has 3 modes of guidance and is still similar in size but superior in performance to the Hellfire.
In the AMRAAM info you posted it stated that the use of modern electronics has left a 6in/15cm space in the guidance section. I guess the hard part will be the seeker head layout.
