How about a seeker head like the German Armiger anti-radar missile?
Radar guidance and IR combined, maybe inertial and GPS too.
Great pics!
Where did you take them?
Is that a new gray radome on the GR4 or is it a painted black one?
This is a good site to find out about current and future RN projects

Why is SSN-23 heavier?
Yes, they’re buying the 4 they leased as well.

The four in-service C-17 aircraft will be purchased when their current lease expires and an additional C-17 aircraft will be purchased.
They’ve got the money to get to Singapore, but I think they have to sell them to get back!
It’s time for a military coup here in Britain I think.
That, or cancel JSF and CVF, share out 232 Eurofighters between the RAF and FAA and build a sea base.
The coup is more cost effective, but needs doing before community liaison officers out number the infantry.

Good points, but as long as the missile is heading in the right direction the ship has to use it’s self defence systems against it.
The more missiles launched against a target, the bigger the problem for it’s defences, the lower the chances for survival.

I heard the US Army would like to operate this type of aircraft to take the strain off the CH-47 Chinook on medium distance supply missions.

Your right a 30kg warhead won’t take out a ship, but it will cause damage and disable its systems, and a missile body travelling at mach 3 will at least put a big dent in the superstructure.
I think I read that Argentine 30mm cannon fire knocked out ship systems in the Falklands war.
Point taken on seeker heads, but have you heard of the American Joint Common Missile? This has a seeker head which has radar, laser and infra red guidance all in one package. I think this arrangement could be possible in other types of missile.
I think I read somewhere that the EH-101 team has had this kind of bidding problem in Australia too.
What’s going on?
Is this politics or are there real technical problems with EH-101?
EH-101 pilots seem happy, read this-

I can understand their disappointment if this is true.
Anyone heard of these defects effecting British, Italian and Japanese EH-101’s?
I think the Royal Navy would have great difficulty in this situation. Since the Sea Eagle anti-ship missile has been withdrawn from service we are left with Harpoon fired from frigates, subs and Nimrods and the short range Sea Skua for Lynx. Defence cuts mean these are all in declining numbers and the retirement of Sea Harrier will mean they will not receive adequate air defence. We may have the better capability to find and target the threat but I’m doubtful if we have enough weapons at hand to take it out.
What are the quality issues with the EH-101, anything to do with the recent grounding?
