    USMC AV-8B’s are lighter than RAF models due to more stringent bird strike protection requirements. The extra weight on GR5’s,7’s and 9’s is found in thicker intake skins and a stronger windshield.

    Paveway IV’s are set to become the UK’s standard precision ordinance. These are basically 500 lbs Paveway III’s with GPS/inertial guidance instead of laser seeking heads (which can be fitted if required) also laser guided 2.75inch/70mm rockets are being tested and I’d like to see those on Harriers. I still think the GR.9 should get the Blue Vixen radar so it can properly replace the Sea Harrier.

    Wingtip sidewinder/asraam rails and fuel tank amraam stations were early concepts for the SHAR Mk2 upgrade. This would have matched your loadout with 3 pylons empty!

    I think I heard twin Amraam rails would have caused pitch problems.
