My grandfather donated his aircrew medical kit from his RAF days to MOSI, what’s likely to happen to bits of stuff like that?
Mostly men from the USS Oklahoma. Here is the link to the DPAA site, every so often it releases the names of identified military personnel.
Thank you for the pictures chaps, very nice! 😎
Fantastic pictures, love the Camel from my younger days of reading Biggles books at every moment possible. DH5 is a cracking looking aircraft also….
Would be nice to see a bit more of the F2B (Bristol Fighter) that is hiding in the back of the hanger!! :eagerness:
According to a book I have read there is enough fabric from his Triplane to cover several aircraft!
I presume Major Packe shot down one of his previous aircraft being flown by another pilot?

Made that abit to easy……
Ju-87 Stuka. werk number 5708 LUFTWAFFE, IH+JU, IVST/LG 1, shot down by anti aircraft fire at Vourijarvi, 16.07.41
amazing what you can find on line!
You forgot to add Q6. What are Saturdays lottery numbers!
Could they be the aircraft serial numbers? L5708 and L5701 were both assigned to Fairey Battle’s according to UK serials…. Just a wild guess on my part.
What happened to all the F3 rear seaters? Did they transfer over to GR4 squadrons or re-train as another aircrew specialty?
Says Victorville in one of the captions, Fedex must have some size fleet of aircraft if they are the ones they have retired!
Bloody Val Kilmer…… Got some of us excited there! Anyway ****** Top Gun, Iron Eagle was far better! 😉
Since when is bug#er a bad word…..
One of my favorite films as a kid, love this scene…..
Great news, massive congratulations to the engineers and technicians who worked on her!
Thank you for the reply Piston, I’m sure it was a most enjoyable place to work!
Do the engineers get posted to the flight as part as there normal RAF career or do they request a posting to the flight?
