Is that Mr David Puleston in G-BETI?
Yep
I’m not really a fan of the Nipper but the Belfair is lovely.

Lovely Aeroplane
ooops! Sorry Neal, I hang my head in shame. However I’m neither reporting nor paid here – you’ve got what you paid for. 😀
Thats alright then 😀 😀
I may not be putting my view across very well but I agree with what you say DaveB.
As I said, I know some facts and there are others I will learn but I’m not gonna rely on one off news reports from tv channels to broaden my knowledge.
Neal
just two thoughts and a PS. 😉
It’s not funny to think that due to the risk of litigation they’ll make sure they get their facts about ‘Hello!’ level celebrities correct while real news is treated this shoddily as it’s ‘specialist interest’. Call me old fashioned but history is important, and plastic people for new-stand bumph aren’t.I appreciate the comments, Neil & Ren, but by your own statements organisations such as the BBC are hastening their own demise by failing to adhere to Reith’s standards.
Bluntly, if you can’t get your facts right, then shut up.

Secondly the real tribute that we know of should be to all those who’ve put so many Spitfire back into the air, so long after their sell by date. With all due respect to the pilots, a pilot’s easy to find if you have an interesting aircraft. It’s much harder to find the qualified capable builders and volunteers to put those aircraft back in the air. Thank you all.
My comments were not necesarily in defence of the BBC, I was just pointing out the way it is. The facts they give about Hello level celebs, are they true or do we believe them coz WE don’t really know what the truth is. The same goes for Joe Public and his family. We know the facts true facts about Spitfires. Do they, no, do they care, probably not.
As for Bluntly, if you can’t get your facts right then shut up.
My name is spelt Neal not Neil. James thats only a joke and is purely tongue in cheek, please don’t call for my hanging :diablo: 😀
Anyway, I am an historic aircraft enthusiast. I know a bit but I’m always willing to learn more but I don’t rely on tv news coverage.

Now I’ve not seen any of this footage today, I’ve been too busy.
I don’t know why we are all moaning though, what else could be expected. Ok, its a news special feature but at the end of the day its broadcast for the masses not enthusiasts. Most of who proably weren’t aware of the anniversary in the first place and also probably not really bothered and have already forgotten. Its a specialist subject not on a specialist aviation channel. Yes its annoying when they get facts wrong but I would have thought most people watching ain’t bothered about hearing just merlin engines.
If I could I would have gone to Duxford but as it was I had other plans and as for not seeing it on tv, well, I don’t think I’ve missed much.
I may be wrong or you may not agree but thats how I see it.

Nice pics.

a not-so-venerable Hohner Steinberger copy,
I used to have one of those. Kinda wish I still had as I really liked the sound.
