Scotland Yard
I read in a newspaper today that Scotland Yard was warning aviation enthusiasts to stay away from Heathrow on the 24th Oct, for the final landing by three concordes. Has anyone else heard of this elsewhere?
Wonky bits?
Photoshop’s Rotate tool can help fix those erm… gravitational errors !!
You like blurry, over-exposed pics, right?
I’ll email you some of my personal ones if you want.
Please advise what capacity your email has, and I’ll tailor them to suit.
All together now…
Ooooh…Ahhhhh…..
Very nice photos Gareth.
It’s safe enough
The aircrew and the aircraft are all very suitable for their approved demonstrations. In fact they are operated well within their limits (pilots and aircraft). It’s unavoidable that accidents somtimes happen, and I can assure you that the engineers, pilots, airshow organisers and the CAA do their best to minimise the danger.
The only way to stop aeroplanes crashing is to stop them taking off. Now that would certainly increase safety, but would also lead to a boring (nay, intolerable) world. And we don’t want that.
The military were quick off the mark
In fact, the first casualty from an air crash was an Army officer, who was on board a demonstration flight with one of the Wright Brothers when the aircraft crashed! 🙁
Fences are fences, I was outside it.
Stevie B,
Yep I was in that car, but I was the other guy packing a tiny Nikon F100 and short 200mm lens (with the cap on).
I saw you had TWO digital cameras, and in fact was a teensy bit jealous. Please email me some more of your fine photos. I have to wait until mine are developed…
Cheers, Jorgo.
Security !!
What a great day. Paid my £10 then left after a half hour and went to the south side of the airfield – where the sun position made for better photos.
Jonathon Whaley and his Miss Demeanour Hunter flypasts were easily the highlight of the event !!
Didn’t enjoy being told by the roving security guy that I was tresspassing on property and the police would be called unless I crossed the road. I was on the outside of the fence.
What a great line-up 🙂
All of these jets will be a first for me. The weather is looking good too !!
and another shot from Wanaka ’96.
Someone needs glasses..
All in all, I still wouldn’t kick that Spitty out of bed.
I’d fly it with NO shame :p
Mum told me I’d go blind !!
That’s it – I’m getting glasses.

Yes OFMC Fan,
I’m an ex-RNZAF pilot trying to make it into the airborne photography arena here in the UK. So far I’m finding that surviving on breadcrumbs is too expensive !!
We must meet up at Duxford! :p
Thanks Steve,
For some strange reason (most likely my fault) I could not access these OFMC pages earlier. Obviously you shook your magic stick.
It might be worth my waiting until Sunday for the big drive….. unless I can organise someone to formate on my photo-ship on the Saturday. 😉
