So actually not much Dax activity on Saturday, oh except for 7 queuing up for take off! Going to OW apparently so will be there for the airshow on Sunday

It is, of course, all about the Daks so on the ground there was one in the far south east corner with the private park. Is that the naughty corner?
Then on the field to the front of the control tower were two rows.
The south back row
and the north front row
Then there were two on the jet pan.
I didn’t move from my viewing spot so cannot say if all are in view.
My understanding it as exactly as skeeler has stated, although not needing parking tickets for Sunday and Monday is by omission rather than a clear statement.
I too booked for Tuesday and Wednesday as soon as I received the first email and was able to book parking at that time.
I would certainly agree that, whilst the website is all arty crafty with the latest display formats, it does not present the important information in an easily accessible and clear way. Personally I do not consider that the correct place for important information is when it can only be found in the FAQs.
The email about needing tickets for Sunday and Monday only arrived on the day before we left for the area and I do not necessarily open emails on the day they are received.
It would also have been nice to know what the actual parking arrangements are for all four days, hope to find out tomorrow on our first visit.
Have received a call this morning and I am now all booked and entered into the draw. Well done the team under difficult circumstances.
With the deadline approaching for inclusion in the draw I contacted DX for an update. The problem is still not fixed and is unlikely to be fixed any day soon. Telephone bookings will be possible from tomorrow the 22 February on 020 7091 3043. Let us hope this goes well. When you call do not forget to be placed in the draw.
Had another email today, very apologetic, but the systems provider has not been able to resolve the problem so far. If the problem has not been resolved next week then they will start taking telephone bookings. Assured that there will be tickets available and would be in contact next week with a further update.
Presumably if the members portal is up and running members will be able to purchase tickets even if the membership runs out before that date as that was the original problem. It may well be they had not understood that some members would want to purchase airshow tickets well in advance which is not experienced at other IWM venues.
George thank you for introducing me to the excellent resource that is canmore.org. Many, many hours of late night/early morning browsing there. :eagerness:
The story so far, my email to members office
“Hi,
I am unable to book tickets for the BoB show as my membership ends on the 31st August and cannot be renewed until 30 days before expiry. I need to book accommodation and this needs to be done ASAP. This will also be the case every year. Also, assuming that Members tickets qualify for the draw, I will also miss out on this. I feel sure that this must be the position for a lot of people.
The only solution I can see from my end is to allow my membership to lapse, not go to the airshow and renew membership out of the airshow season.
I wonder if you have realised this situation and whether you can come up with a better solution.
Kind regards,”
I am not sure about the etiquette about posting the reply and I have not sort permission so I will summarise.
An apology for late reply. They are experiencing technical issues with the members access and are working on solution.
Will get back to me when solution found.
The reason I posted the text that I sent is to illustrate that it, well at least I hope, cannot be readily misunderstood. The reply is such that it is not clear if the problem I raised is being addressed.
I will post again when I hear more.
I have been “indisposed” for some time and have not been keeping up with things so have not read any of the various threads. As others have said all projects seem to have their ups and downs. Everybody must make their own decisions whether to continue supporting the project. Having met Rich several times I feel he is the best chance for getting WR963 into the air. He may well fail, for many different reasons, just as other projects do, but I am happy to continue supporting the project in my small way.
Hi, Very shortly you will be able to buy tickets on line, it will then be pretty self explanatory. You can book both days and there may well be a weekend ticket . If you are bringing a car you will need a £5 parking ticket for each day. You can book flight line walks on either or both days. All tickets will probably be e-tickets so you will need to have printed them off. Tickets will not be available on the day. The local Travel Lodge, Fourwentways, Cambridge still had rooms a few days ago, however prices reflect the event. We usually stay in the Stevenage Central Premiere Inn in which is about half an hour away but a bit cheaper. For the best experience arrive early and leave late. If you are coming all that way you do not want to spend time in traffic jams. If we are lucky enough to have a sunny day you will be taking pictures against the light. Go up the eastern end and you can also see activity around the restoration company hangers and the jet standing. Go to the right of the control tower and you are close to the perimeter track which the returning aircraft taxi down. Go further west and try and get a bit of an elevated view on the approaches to the tank museum, here you can see across the field and down the before mentioned perimeter track.
Hope this helps. You are welcome to PM me if you need any further help.
Yep. Have already done that.:eagerness:
